Im getting 163.27 marks in NTSE MAHARASHTRA and Im from OBC category.Will I qualify for NTSE stage 2? Please state the difficulty level of paper also,as compared to previous years paper.
Hello Aspirant,
See on such score you can easily qualify NTSE stage 1 but have some chances of being shortlisted for stage 2 because the expected cut-off for shortlisting of candidate for stage 2 from Maharashtra is 163.06 for OBC category.
NTSE Maharashtra expected cut-off for 2021 :-
Category |
Cutoff |
General |
175.75 |
Other Backward Class (OBC) |
163.06 |
Scheduled Caste (SC) |
147.78 |
Scheduled Tribes (ST) |
131.97 |
EWS | 153.86 |
So it shows that you have some chances to be qualified for stage 2 but still we have to wait because the cut-off mentioned above is only the expected cut-off.
Cut off depends upon various factors such as the difficulty level of stage 1 exam, Maharashtra State quota, number of students appeared in the stage 1 exam, last year's NTSE Maharashtra cutoff and so on.
You can also check out complete details about the expected cut-offs for NTSE Maharashtra 2021 from the link given below :-

Good Luck!!
I am getting 161 marks in NTSE Maharashtra 2020 organized on 13th December from OBC category. Can I get qualified to stage 2...
Hi
It is very difficult to predict whether you will be able to qualify NTSE stage 1 examination or not as qualifying cut off marks or not as cut off marks depends upon a number of factors like
* number of students that appeared in the ntse exam,
*kind of marks obtained by them in ntse examination,
*toughness level of the ntse examination and several other factors.
But yes,
When we go through previous year trends then,
The ntse Maharashtra stage 1 expected cut off to be eligible for NTSE stage 2 is given below category wise:-
* General: - 170 - 180 Marks
* OBC : - 160 - 170 Marks
* Scheduled Caste: - 142 - 152 Marks
* Scheduled Tribe: - 125 - 135 Marks
So , with 161 marks you hold a chance to qualify NTSE stage 1 as expected cutoff for OBC category is 160 - 170 Marks

Hi Aspirant,
The NTSE Stage-1 Maharashtra cutoff for 2020 will be declared in the first week of May, 2020. However, the expected cutoff score for the general category is 167-175. Beside this, you also need to score a minimum of 40% in both MAT and SAT sections individually. You might also want to check out last years' cutoff trends which you will find here:

The questions which are disqualified in the official answer are awarded bonus marks or not? Kindly Explain in detail.
If a question is disqualified from the National Talent Search Examination, then it will be not awarded with bonus marks. Rather the question will be deleted or removed from the section. Also, the total marks will also be reduced due to disqualification of question.
I am getting 172 marks in ntse maharashtra stage 1 in general category. Will I qualify for national level?
Hello Urmila, For Students , Cut off marks are calculated depending on some previous year cut off marks. Below is mention these expected marks for each category,
General 167-175
OBC 156-165
SC 140+
ST 120+
So as per these marks , your mentioned marks are within the range of cut off. so it has quite good chance for you to get in Stage 2 .
But still, these marks are not fixed, because cut off changes every year depending on various factors. So i'll suggest you to wait till Final result.
I hope it will help you.
Thanks.
