And as for the fees it's varies as since many factors comes into picture like your Rank and category you belong , your +2 marks as well apart from the govt medical colleges you will need to pay in lakhs minimum.

- Nethralaya, Chennai offers Ophthalmology courses that are -
(1) Diploma in Ophthalmology which is a two year program.
(2) Ph D Program in Ophthalmology
(3) Diplomate of National Board of Examination (DNB) Ophthamology is a three year program.
(4) Diplomate of National Board
(5) Fellowship in General Ophthamology, Cornea, Paediatric, Uvea, Oculoplastis, Glycoma, Vitreoretinal, and Neuro Ophthalmology - The program starts every year in April and October.
(6) Cataract Surgery - The program starts at Jan, April, July and October.
- The DNB Ophthalmology is only eligible for candidates who have a Postdoctoral Vitreoretinal Fellowship.
- The Postgraduate Diploma in Ophthalmology requires an MBBS degree and one year internship from Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University.
- The applicants should register themselves with a State Medical Council or MCI, New Delhi.
