Hello sir,Here my some questions please give me answer. How many marks need in GATE for get job in ONGC as petroleum engineer? How many vacancies every year from ONGC in petroleum engineer?Currently ONGC goes for campus placement or take through GATE?
hi,
see ongc generally hires from IITS and top nits. ongc has past years comparatively less vacancy through gate. so if you are currently studying in b.tech petroleum engineering, you should opts for gate exam, if the psus can not be secured, I suggest you to go for m.tech course from top institute like IITS where you would get decent placement as per your branch.
generally vacancy for any psu for any year can not be predicted, it depends on the organization work opportunity, projects availability, seat matrix available for new employee.
nevertheless, if you have attempted gate exam, you may give a shot to careers360 college predictor tool to know about psu chances and probable name of m.tech colleges:

I want to become an petroleum engineer so please tell me which course is better for good placement after btech in chemical engineering with one of the top NIT of India is it m tech in in petroleum engineering or Ms in petroleum engineering from abroad.
India has a great scope as far as Petroleum Engineering is concerned in both Public and Private Sector. Once you complete your B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from NIT, you may pursue a M.Tech in Petroleum Engineering from some of the Top IITs like Bombay, Kharagpur, Roorkee or IIT ISM.
However, Chemical Engineering too has a great scope in Petroleum Sector with Companies like IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, Reliance, Schlumberger, Halliburton, ExxonMobil, Shell and HPCL. Hence, you may try for Placement Opportunities after B.Tech On or Off Campus or perhaps through GATE, as well as great prospects in Countries in the Middle East.

I want to become an petroleum engineer but I dont have much money for getting in a coaching and crack JEE advanced so so I decided to crack JEE mains and go for BTech chemical engineering and after that m tech in petroleum engineering so tell me is this correct or not for me now?
Definitely you must prepare for JEE Mains, but also do give effort to feat JEE Advanced. IIT ISM Dhanbad is by far the best Institute for Petroleum Engineering in India for B.Tech. The Institute has excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities and enjoys a strong employer outlook with Top Companies like Halliburton, Rio Tinto, Shell, ExxonMobil, ONGC, IOCL, BPCL recruiting from Campus.
In case, you do not clear JEE Advanced, you must follow what you have decided. A B.Tech in Chemical from some of the Top NITs or GFTIs or Excellent State Engineering Institutes followed by a M.Tech in Petroleum from some of the Higher Technical Institutes in India like IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur and so on.

is petroleum engineer can get jobs easily
Hello Sai Kumar!
Unfortunately, i t is very difficult to get a job for a petroleum engineering graduate. Over the years there has been a downfall in the industry and due to pandemic the situation is no better currently. However, experts say that there might be a rise in demand in the coming years, but it is purely dependent on the demand and cost of oil and its extract products.
Any requirement of petroleum engineer come in gujarat like civil engineering class1,2 ? please suggest me any other exam in gujarat base on petroleum engineering also.
Hello Aspirant,
Hope your doing good.
Petroleum Engineering is actually related to the innovation and exploration of the process of oil and gas extraction. It is advanced from Mining Engineering and Geology, and linked to Geo science.
In ahmedabad there are some job offerings in the field of lecturing, civil engineer(oil and gas), as a process engineer for pharmaceuticals and many more.
to get into any of the colleges in gujrat one has to take up certain entrance tests
such as JEE MAIN(NATA)
bitsat, VITEEE, UPES DAT
So apart from that field some of the best choices would be finance and law. You'll find that in these roles your petroleum engineering knowledge will still get a solid workout.
