PhD Pharmacology, also known as Doctorate in Pharmacology, is a research-based doctoral course in Pharmacology that lasts at least three years but can be extended to five years. Progression beyond the first year necessitates satisfactory performance, which determines the length of the course. It investigates how a drug affects the biological system and the body's reaction to the drug. Candidates with a Masters in Pharmacology and a minimum aggregate of 55% are eligible for admission to the program. They will, however, be required to pass a national level entrance exam or a university level exam.
Top entrance exam for the course is UGC-NET , UGC-CSIR-NET ,GATE
Admission will be based on the performance of candidates in the entrance exam and the following personal interview. The top colleges for ph.D Pharmacology are Jamia Hamdard, NIPER, Institute of Chemical Technology, Annamalai University.
The average annual fee will be ranging from 2lakh to 4 lakh based on institution.
The career prospects are Analytical Chemist, Biomedical Scientist, Healthcare Scientist, Clinical Pharmacologist, Clinical Research Associate, Forensic Scientist, etc. and salary nearly ranging between 4 to 15 lakh.
