The story of philosophy {book} in amazon rs.5045, but in flipkart rs is 248. these are same books are not, which book i prefer and why this is too difference in prices ? pls Bro/sis/ mam explain it briefly ?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 12th Sep, 2019

Hello,

It depends upon the brand as they have their different infrastructure ,expense ,revenue ,import/export cost. There are many factors that matters.

In addition to it, Flipkart is india based company and amazon is International company.

Flipkart is having moderate and low prices but the quality of product may vary. For that you have to check the reviews.

This goes same with amazon. But prices are high which also matter how the company collects the produuct. It may be costing low for flipkart but costing high for amazon. As it distributes things globe-wide.

Hope it helps!

Is it compulsory to study philosophy in 12 to do ba philosophy???

Ananya 7th Aug, 2019
No it's not compulsory to study Philosophy in 10+2 in order to pursue a bachelor's degree in it, there might be some percentage deduction in a few colleges but minor. Otherwise, if you have cleared 10+2 you are very much eligible to pursue BA Philosophy Honours.

Which would be a better choice in terms of job opportunities- ba eng hons or ba philosophy hons?

Deepika Student Expert 18th Jul, 2019

dear aspirant,

B.A english honours and BA philosophy have different scopes and opportunities each of either are given below:

If by scope you mean getting a job right after graduation, there are chances of getting a job after philosophy honors in fields like content writing, counselling etc. As you may know, most of the graduates nowadays either stick to pursuing higher education or taking up professional courses in most sought after institutions with good enough placements. Though graduating with a philosophy honors degree will not be enough to get into good postion you can still opt for higher studies.

1. Work in any Newspaper as a writer, sub-editor, proof-reader or even as a reporter.

2. Teach in schools or colleges (NET)

3. Go for HR/PR in corporate

4. Start a blog/vlog to teach English

5. Become a writer

6. Become a translator

7. Become a soft-skills trainer.

you can also write and qualify NET and JRF to do Phd and become a professor in university , but you need to enroll in M.A course for this.

hope it helped.

How can I get my guide for M. Phil

yadvi Student Expert 19th Jul, 2019

Dear candidate,

A Masters of Philosophy in a subject is the next step after a Masters degree and before a PhD. It is usually a prerequisite for a PhD and in some cases an eligibility requirement for some research or teaching jobs.It is two years; which includes one semester of course work and rest for dissertation.

This is a course consisting of some theoretical elements and some applied research in a subject leading to a PhD.

Admission eligibility:

To register for an M.Phil. you need to have a Masters degree in the subject and a research proposal which needs to be approved by a guide. The research proposal is fine tuned in the course of the programme but you need to have an idea about the area of research and an approval from the person you want to work with at the onset.

Or in other words:

The minimum qualification for admission to the M.Phil. program will be at least 55% marks in the aggregate in M.Com./ MIB/ MHROD/ MFC/ MBA and other such degrees which are equivalent to the MBA degree of the University of Delhi and other Indian Universities. However, the candidates with degrees other than M.Com. / MIB/ MHROD/ MFC/ MBA would be required to furnish an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities/ Delhi University or any other competent authority. The onus of producing the relevant equivalence certificate lies on the candidate.

Candidates who have appeared for the examination in above mentioned post graduate program can also apply. However, such candidates will be allowed to appear for the entrance test only provisionally. Their applications will be considered subject to submission of their final results within a prescribed time stipulated by the Department and fulfillment of the minimum eligibility requirements.

Selection Procedure:

There are two modes for applying in M.Phil course i.e. Entrance and Direct ( NET/NET-JRF). In case of NET/NET-JRF the students are selected on the basis of merit (50% Undergraduate marks + 50% Post Graduate marks) for final Interview. However in case of Entrance test there is two-layered selection procedure, comprising a written test and a personal interview. The written test covers five areas namely Quantitative methods for Research, Accounting Finance & Tax, International Business & Marketing, Human Resource Management & Law, and Economics. Written Test generally consists of objective type questions with negative marking. The written test is usually held in the month of July or August. The personal interview of the candidates qualifying the written test is usually held after one month from the date of written test.

An M.Phil. provides you the skills to take up research based jobs and teaching jobs in your field of study. You can find employment in organisations and educational institutions linked to your area of work at the same level as PhD candidates sometimes. Most employers know that candidates pursuing M.Phil. continue upto PhD. and give opportunities to them at an equal standing.
