Hey there
In the first and second cut off list of Hindu College the minimum percentage of Cutoff which are required war 98. 25% and 98.75 respectively. It means it is almost 99% for BSC honours (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). And particularly for physics it is 99.33%.

Iam Dharani. Im studying degree in b.sc physical sciences (mpcs). Iam interested in space researches. how should I approach my goal please reply me Its my ambition
Hello,
Space research is scientific study carried out in outer space, and by studying outer space.
To become a space scientist, you should possess relevant education in pure science or engineering disciplines.
For example: ISRO recruit candidates with PhD in Astronomy, Physics and Mathematics along with engineers in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer science.
- For space research you can opt for Engineering with aerspace or aeronautics and later can go head for masters in Aestrophysics and space science. Remember there are limited seat for the above masters couse and exams are very tough.
- Earning a master's or doctoral degree in physics, astronomy or astrophysics could prepare you for work as a space scientist is also an option.
Hope this helps!!!
I have completed my masters in mathematics but want to switch to physics..so can i sit in exam of csir net for physics (physical sciences) what are the problems i will face ahead...like is it important to have masters in same subject when youre going for phd.
dear aspirant
For applying in CSIR NET physical science candidate needs a degree of M.Sc. in Physics or BS-MS in Physical Sciences or any other equivalent degree.
All the best
which one is better in teaching field bsc life science or bsc physical sciences with chemistry
Hi Aspirant,
Both fields are good as both of them can give you good teaching opportunities plus if you go for bsc physical science with chemistry then you can go in for chemistry teaching in some good schools along with other physical science subjects. If you opt for bsc life science you can master teaching in general science as well as hysical science such as chemistry, physics etc.
Hope it helps!!
What is the eligibility criteria for PhD in Physical Sciences from JNU ? I have read from the prospectus and some websites but they show a different answers. Prospectus says that Maths is not required at B.Sc level but some websites show that Maths is compulsory at B.Sc level. what is correct ?
Hey there,
Hope you’re having a great day.
I would like to inform you that for clarification, the eligibility is that aspirant must have Master's degree in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics with atleast 55% marks. Candidates having majored in Physics or Chemistry should have had Mathematics atleast up to the Bachelor's level. Candidates majoring in Chemistry should have specialized in Physical Chemistry/Chemical Physics at the M.Sc. level. Exceptions can be made in case of applicants with a B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical) degree provided they successfully compete in our entrance examination. You can use the link given below for reference-:
https://www.jnu.ac.in/sps_phd#phd
Let me know if you have further clarifications by mentioning it in the comment section below.
Have a nice day and I wish that you have a bright future ahead.
Thanks.
Which is the best correspondance coaching for Physical sciences? Whose study material will be most helpful?
Hello
Practice Any CSIR-UGC Physics question bank.
But my personal suggestion is to give emphasis on these 4 chapters.
Classical Mechanics
Electrodynamics
Thermodynamics & Statistical Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics
(Since these chapters are present in both sections B & C of the CSIR-UGC exam)
Note: The CSIR-UGC exam only tests the basic concepts, so they don’t ask tough questions, just a little tricky ones.
