I want to be a physicist but my parents want me to be a doctor! So Im in tense that what should I do now. Can anyone please do a comparison between this two lines and suggest me a line? I like Biology and physics both. In Bio 97% and in psc 95% (10th board)?
Hope you are doing well.
See both the streams are very different from each other.
I am telling about both of them one by one :
For becoming a doctor you have to do a lot of hardwork. First you have to clear Neet ug, which is one of the most difficult exams in India, For getting a government medical college, you need atleast 600+ marks out of 720. Only 10 to 15 thousand students get the government seat out of lakhs of students appearing for the exam.
Government seats are important because of the fees, Where you complete your mbbs within 1 or 2 lakh in any government college, you complete the same within 1 crore in a private college. However If you can afford this much it is completely fine.
Now, for becoming a physicist, you have to do Bsc. Physics hons. and then msc and then Phd. Only bsc does not have much scope nowadays. So to complete all these, it requires a lot of time. There is so much scope after becoming a physicist,,, you can become a scientist, professor, etc.
So it completely depends upon your interest. If you believe that you can become a better physicist than a doctor so go for it only.
If you want to prepare for Neet here are some tips for it :

Hope this helps you
All the best
I have 46% marks in Bsc.I am currently pursuing Msc physics. I want to be a physicist. Is it possible?
Hello there!
If you have got an enrollment in the Master's program now your current degree's score will be taken abd talked ahead.
You can clear NET JRF or GATE or IIT-JAM etc for the same.
One your clear JRF you will become eligible for doing research and also teaching.
Like that you can fill your dream of becoming a physicist.
Good Luck!
Can I become a Physicist after B-tech in engineering physics. If yes, what are the steps I had to follow to become so. Thanks
Hello,
After completing your BTech, you can take the JAM or JEST physics examinations. After passing JAM, you can apply for an MSc at IIT. You will be eligible for interviews for integrated PhD programmes in research institutes if you pass JEST.
These examinations can also be used to apply for integrated PhD programmes in IISERs.
After completing BTech, many people have gone on to become great theoretical physicists.
It is a myth that Engineers cannot become physicists. All you need is a passion for the topic and the willingness to put in the effort to master higher maths.
Hope it helped
All the best
How I will be a Theoritical Physicist?
Hello Ankan,
You can take science as your major subjects ( Physics, chemistry and mathematics) for your 10+2 education. Then continue your education with a graduation in Physics you can go for the conventional BSc Physics degree or an integrated five year MSc physics course after you can go for a PhD in physics which could also be an integrated course in case you are applying after your Bachelors degree (MSc + PhD).
Best colleges for theoretical physics are given below
HRI, Allahabad
TIFR, Mumbai
International centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS)
IIT, Kanpur
SINP, Kolkata
IIT Kharagpur
IIT Madras
Hope this helps and Good luck
is bio compulsory in high school to become a medical physicist
hi,
yes, you have to take biology as a mandatory subject in 10+2 course, if you want to do higher study in biology related stream like mbba, bds, bhms, bsc in anesthesia, b.sc nursing, b.sc in optometry or cardiovascular technology or dialysis technology , b.sc in physiotherapy etc. to become a medical physicist you have to study mbbs , you must have biology, english, physics, chemistry as mandatory subject in 10+2 course.
can I become a medical physicist with PCM subjects without biology?
Hey,
Medical Physicist are professionals that helps in dealing with medical conditions in scientific way.
The prerequisite subjects in order to pursue your career as medical physicist is Physics, and Maths.
Its advisable for one to have chemistry and biology in addition to the physics as well as maths subject.
So as per your question YES you can become a medical physicist with PCM subjects without biology.
Hope that helps.
Thank you
Which subjects are required in high school to become a medical physicist

I have to become a physicist like Einstein what course can I take in Post graduate
Hey!
First complete BSC physics ( undergraduation) and then follow it up with MSC physics ( post graduation), then you can go for PhD doctoral studies and you can choose your research topics in theoretical physics, engineering physics, chemical physics, astrophysics etc, depending on your interest. After phD you can join in any industrial research jobs, or government labs and you can upgrade your skills.
Thankyou
