thankyou.
i have appeared gate with chemical engineering paper, is this paper is eligible for masters in polymer science
See Master in Polymer Science comes under the genre of the Engineering Sciences. As per most of the universities, the admission to this courses are provided on the basis of the XE or Engineering Science paper of GATE.
Now if you go for the course of the MTech Chemical Engineering then also you can specialize in the following fields:
- Chemical Engineering
- Energy Engineering
- Process Control & Instrumentation
- Biotechnology
- Chemical Process Design
- Chemical Plant Design
- Industrial Pollution Control
- Industrial Biotechnology
- Computer Aided Process and Equipment Design
- Polymer
So yeah! You are also eligible for the Polymer Science through the Masters in Polymer Sciences.

Can Bsc BZC candidate is eligilble to take Polymer science in MSC
Hello student ,
The eligibility criteria for MSC in polymer chemistry/polymer science states that the candidate must have completed graduation in any relevant subject such as chemistry, mathematics, physics, etc., with minimum 50% marks from a recognised university. However the eligibility criteria may change slightly for different colleges and universities. So, you must check accordingly before applying.
Is the value of bsc in polymer science from Bhaskaracharya college of applied sciences the same as a btech in polymer science from some college? basically, what is the difference between a bsc and btech degree and are the career prospects different?
A BTech Degree usually have stronger prospects across Technical and Non Technical Domains, and having a strong background in Mathematics, Statistics and Engineering, you are widely considered eligible for multiple roles across Technology, Finance, Data Science, Management, Supply Chain and Operations. With a BSc in Polymer Science, you should perhaps pursue a MCA/MSc/PhD for stronger prospects in Industry or if youre aspiring Teaching/Education/Research Industry in future.
is BSc polymer science course available
Hi,
Bachelor of Science Honours in Polymer Science is an undergraduate Polymer Engineering course. Polymer Science or Macromolecular Science is the subfield of materials science concerned with polymers, primarily synthetic polymers such as plastics. The field of polymer science includes researchers in multiple disciplines including chemistry, physics, and engineering. The course includes chemistry, physics, chemical engineering and biochemistry. Polymer science is the study of the materials of everyday life and the development of new materials that meet societal and technological needs. Course structure introduces the students to Polymers that are usually manufactured in the form of fibres, yarns, flakes and granules. The course is career orienting in nature that provides many jobs after its completion.
Aspiring students should have passed 10+2 with science or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognised school board.
Hope this helps
Wish you luck
Can i include computer science instead of maths as one the subject while calculating my best 4 for B.SC polymer science (hon.) in DU as i got [ mathematics-75, physics-83, computer science-90,english-91 & chemistry-86] can i inlude chemistry, english (as a language),physics & computers in best 4?
Hello Sanjay,
The calculation of best 4 for meeting the cutoff for B.Sc hons. in Polymer Science should compulsorily include one language subject along with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics only.
Therefore, you cannot include computer science marks instead of Mathematics.
Hope this helps. All the best!
I did my b.tech in my Polymer Science & Chemical Technology from Delhi Technological University which is not core chemical engineering but the course is quite similar & my college has recenlty changed the name recently to chemical engineering. Am I eligible to give GATE Chemical engineering exam?
Yes, you are definitely eligible for GATE CH Chemical Engineering and henceforth a strong career with PSUs lile ONGC, IOCL, SAIL, HPCL, BPCL, KIOCL, NMDC, BARC, DRDO and many others. You may even plan a M.Tech in some of the Higher Technical Institutions like IITs, IISc or Good NITs post you GATE
