what is b.tech polymer technology?suggest its scope?
Hello aspirant,
Polymer Engineer is related to converting natural and synthetic raw materials into a host of products that include plastic, rubber, textile fabric and advanced materials. An undergraduate course in Polymer Engineering helps the aspirants to get innovative ideas on the application of polymer materials and developing polymer processing. B.Tech or BE in Polymer Engineering is a 4-year program. The students are trained in various Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software such as Accelrys, Material Studio for molecular simulation etc. Apirants can also pursue M.Tech in Chemical and Polymer Engineering after graduating in B.Tech or BE program.
Scope of Polymer Engineering:
Graduates and postgraduates in Polymer Engineering can be employed as:
- production supervisors, quality control inspectors, mold designers, and production planners in several private and public sector companies.
- technologists or polymer scientists
- lecturers or professors in engineering institutes.
- Research and development, quality control, design and manufacture of molds etc.

Thank you.
I have scored 422 in XE . AIR is 301. Can I get admission for Mtech Polymer Technology in IITs?
Hello
Considering you have completed your Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, chances are less of admission to Polymer Science and Technology.
Use the GATE College Predictor tool to check your other possible chances of admission-
Good Luck!

Is There Any Scope In Chemical and Polymer Technology In India?
hii
In India, a drastic growth has been seen in courses dedicated to polymer science. A lot of new courses either diploma or degree which deals with polymers, its sub-branches like rubbers, plastics, tires, bio-polymers, textiles, packaging, etc and related fields like material science has been started. The pass outs of these courses are the priority of industries. As Polymer Science is an interdisciplinary subject, it has association with almost every other subject and industries. Hence, undergraduates from other fields can also opt it as their career. It has a huge potential in the job-market as well as R&D. An average bachelor of science, or a diploma holder can easily get 12000–15000 rupees per month. Post-graduation and Postgraduate diploma increases the chance of growth.
The best thing is that it has the maximum number of small scale industries, which is an indication of the ease of setting up one’s own company. The universities are also demanding well qualified teachers having polymeric backgrounds.
Consider the below mentioned expansion of POLYMER.

Extraordinary
Research
This expansion suits so well with the current scenario. Polymer isn’t a new field, but the knowledge, classification and study about it is new.
I want to conclude by saying that polymers will soon become the largest revenue maker of any govt. and will become the highest job providing sector.
hope this helps
what are the minimum marks one must score in board and jee mains to get admission at ict for b.tech in polymer technology
Hello dear,
According to last year cut-off you have to score around 70 to 80 percent in board and 170 marks in JEE main for getting admission in polymer technology at ict.
Is LD college good for polymer technology?
Hi Talreja. LD college can definitely be applied to. The environment is compettitive so if you want to excel, you can. Although the salary package is not very great, the number of companies visiting the campus for placement definitely is. Last year the highest salary grabbed by Polymer Technology student was 3.2 lakhs per annum. But you see, over 150 companies came to recruit so if you develop skills and polish yourself well, you can surely grab a much higher offer by one of them. All the best :)
