Hope this helps!!
I want to become a car designer? Can i take an industrial design or product design in UG and then pursue my transportation design in PG?
Hi Ramesh!
The world is of all-rounders. While it is a good thing to look for specialisations, most of the success stories of designers have witnessed them switching and acing fortes. I'd strongly recommend you to look for B.Des programme in Interdisciplinary Design, where you will be able to concentrate on various aspects of design, rather than restricting to just one specialisation.
B.Des in Interdisciplinary Design at JK Lakshmipat University is one programme, led by A. Balasubramaniam, one of the most prominent designers of India.
JK Lakshmipat University is the philanthropic initiative of the 125-year-old JK Organisation. You can go through their information at www.jklu.edu.in and apply for their entrance exam.
Whats the fee for B Des in industrial, and product design course fee per annum at VIT, vellore, please.
dear ramesh
you can go through vit official website or career360 site for knowing more information about fee , college details etc stay tuned for more queries sorry for your late reply thank you
Whats the difference between M.Des at NID and M.Des at IITs for the same specialization, say Product Design for a non-engineering candidate
Yep, there are other things to consider, which are not specifically related to product design, but to M.Des in these institutions, which might be factors worth considering.
One is that the fees at NID are very high compared to those at IITB. It looks like NID being autonomous, has to generate its own revenue, and one way of doing it is to jack up the fees. Second, there is no hostel accommodation for M.Des students at Ahmedabad campus. Third, there's no concept of teaching assistantship at NID, whereas the same is available at all IITs. Fourth, the M.Des course duration at NID is 2.5 years vs. 2 years at IITs. Fifth, the IITs, being primarily tech institutes, have vast tech resources in the same campus. For example, I notice that the Mechanical Engineering department is adjacent to IDC, IITB. That's important from an industrial design perspective.
What are the career options if opted for product design(Engineering)? pls refer colleges in Bangalore.
They can also start their own business and start selling their own products. Some of the positions that can be taken up include:
- Product Manager
- Product Designer
- Product Marketer
- Quality Control Manager
- Product Show Organiser
- Product Pattern Maker
- Product Illustrator
- Product Finisher

All the best.
whether any candidate who did their B.E. in computer sceince can apply for PG course in product design engineering & which is best college.
My daughter scored 41.97% in SC category in CEED 2018. What is the chance for admission in Product Designing (M.Des.) at IIT, Bombay.
Actually cutt off marks for any exams depends on various factors like
The number of candidates taking CEED 2018
Difficulty level of the question paper
How candidates perform in the entrance exam.
The number of sanctioned seats available in the programme applied to
Previous years cutoff trends
So we can not predict properly what will be the exact cutt off marks. But if we take a glance at last year cutt off marks there are enough chances to get admission in IIT Bombay.
Hope this information will help you. Best wishes for your future.
Thank you.

Does the course of Product Design includes Mathematics and Engineering ?
Is it necessary to do Bachelors Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) before opting the course of Product Design ?
UCEED is the entrance exam if you wish to pursue design. Check details here https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/uceed. The next step would be CEED which is the PG entrance exam (https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/ceed). However, you can write CEED even if you are an engineer. Either way is fine to pursue specialization in product design.
When will the forms will come
Thank you for asking your doubt.
