Psychology therapist course 12 th pass

kumardurgesh1802 4th Dec, 2024

Hello there,

If you're interested in becoming a psychology therapist after completing 12th grade, there are several courses and career paths you can consider:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology : After 12th, you can pursue a BA or BSc in Psychology . These programs typically last 3 years and cover the basics of human behavior, mental health, and psychological theories. After completing this degree, you can explore further specializations in therapy or counseling.

  2. Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) : If you're interested in the practical aspect of helping people with mental health issues, a BSW can be a good option. This program includes topics on counseling, social services, and community work.

  3. Diploma in Counseling or Therapy : There are also specialized diploma courses in counseling or therapy offered by various universities or institutions. These courses generally last 1-2 years and focus specifically on therapy skills, counseling methods, and communication techniques used in psychological treatment.

  4. Master’s Degree in Psychology or Counseling : Once you complete your undergraduate degree in psychology, you can pursue a Master's in Clinical Psychology , Counseling Psychology , or Psychotherapy . These postgraduate programs prepare you to become a licensed therapist and work in clinical settings.

  5. Certifications and Training : Additionally, you can consider certifications in specific therapy techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Gestalt Therapy after your graduation. These can be completed as short-term courses or online training programs.

  6. Licensing : In most countries, becoming a licensed therapist requires you to complete a degree in psychology or counseling followed by a period of supervised clinical experience and passing licensing exams. It’s important to check the specific licensing requirements in your country.

Popular institutions offering psychology-related courses in India include Delhi University , Jamia Millia Islamia , Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) , and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) . For online and short-term courses, platforms like Coursera , Udemy , and edX offer certifications in counseling and therapy.

This field is rewarding but requires empathy, patience, and an understanding of human behavior, so be prepared to invest time in training and development to build a successful career.

Please suggest me what is the Question paper Pattern/ format of MA psychology entrance exam at St. Xaviers clg kolkata and how to get last year Question paper??

Vanshika Agarwal 10th Dec, 2024

MA in Psychology is offered in St Xavier's University not St Xavier's College, and the question paper pattern is an MCQ test with 100 questions of one mark each, no negative marking.

However note that this year, they tested the candidate's English Usage, Understanding Human Behaviour and Analytical ability, this might change for the upcoming years.

And they do give a sample question paper, however previous year questions are not available on the official site.

Hi, a cuet aspirant here and I want to pursue english honours in Delhi University. Will I be an eligible candidate if I appear for English test and 4 domain tests (Psychology, History, Sociology, EVS) instead of General Test? Also,do I need to appear for General Test for Socio Hons or Psycho Hons?

Mitali Sharma 2nd Dec, 2024

Hello

For admission to English Honours in Delhi University (DU) CUET , you will need to appear for the English Language Test as well as a relevant domain specific subject.

If you choose Psychology , History , Sociology and EBS as your domain subjects, you should be eligible to apply for English Honours , as long as you meet the CUET eligibility requirements for those subjects .

For Sociology Honours and Pyschology Honours , you generally need to appear for the General Test along with the specific domain subject tests . The General Test is required for various courses unless otherwise specified by the program  as it assesses general knowledge and reasoning abilities .

Dear sir , do you offer internship to B.Sc psychology students in clinical psychology?

Afreen 13th Nov, 2024

No we don't.Basically a graduate in psychology works with various schools and NGOs so you have to apply by yourself or if your college have tie ups with these they provide assistance to these internship.

However there is less scope for graduates in psychology you should go for higher studies like masters in psychology here internship is mandatory. In most cases, the University takes the responsibility of placing its students.

im currently in the final year of my BA honours psychology degree however I want to change my stream from arts to science is there any way i can sit for 12th again?

Afreen 9th Nov, 2024

You can technically could re-sit for your 12th grade exams to change your stream from arts to science, it's generally not considered the most practical or efficient way to achieve your goal, especially if you're already in the final year of your BA Honours Psychology degree.

Most universities allow students from any undergraduate background to apply for a Master's degree in a relevant science field, like a Master's in Clinical Psychology, which would align well with your BA Psychology background and allow you to focus on the science aspects of the field.

If you still want to do science then go for nios exam they provide all subjects exams according to students needs but again i would say its a complete waste of time and effort and could delay your career plans.

Make right decision.all the best..
