My daughter wants to pursue with Psychology after 2. I need the entire fee structure and course details.

Deepti Singh 17th Oct, 2024

Hello,

Fee varies significantly, location-wise and institute-wise. However, the average would range between 30,000 to 1,50,000 for a 3-year BA or B.Sc. in Psychology in any Indian institution.

Duration: Usually 3 years

Course Content: The syllabus includes topics like Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and Research Methods.

Specializations: Some specializations are opened to students in the latter years of study like Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Industrial Psychology, and Educational Psychology.

Internships: Most programs include some form of practicum or internship, which is hands-on experience.

Eligibility: Higher Secondary Certificate Class X+2 is necessary for admission to these colleges.

Fees and Course Structure tend to vary from college to college so would be best to know beforehand.

i want to persue ba(hons) psychology or sociology. What subjects should i chose for cuet. The subjects i have are History, English Elective, Psychology, Economics, Entrepreneurship (CBSE). And should i prepare for the general paper too?

Afreen 16th Oct, 2024

To pursue a BA(Hons) in Psychology or Sociology through CUET, you should choose "Psychology" and "Sociology" as your domain subjects in Section II of the exam; alongside a language like English or Hindi from Section IA you can take one of them go for English as you have one of the subject in your 12th CBSE and the General Test from Section III is compulsory for everyone so you need to appear for that too.to sum up you have to appear for 3 sections psychology, english and general knowledge.

Hope u understand..

Hello , I want to do m.sc in clinical psychology in corresponding , but i studying BCA and I studied PCMB in PUC . What is the Eligibility Criteria to study M.sc in clinical psychology. Im pursuing BCA 3rd year now and I studied PCMB in PUC. So i can do the M.Sc in clinical psychology now ?

Kanishka kaushikii 5th Oct, 2024

There's a good chance you can pursue M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology with a BCA background, but there might be some additional steps involved. Here's a breakdown of the eligibility criteria:

General Eligibility:

  • Most universities require a Bachelor's degree in Psychology for M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology.
  • However, some universities allow students with degrees in related fields like Social Work, Sociology, or even non-science backgrounds to apply, provided they have some psychology courses in their undergraduate studies.

Your Situation:

  • With a BCA degree, you wouldn't have the standard psychology background.

What You Can Do:

Check University Requirements: Research universities offering M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology and see their specific eligibility criteria. Some might allow applications from non-psychology backgrounds, especially if you've taken some psychology courses during your BCA or PUC.

Consider a bridging course: Some universities might offer bridging courses in psychology for students from non-psychology backgrounds. Completing such a course could strengthen your application.

Focus on relevant skills: Highlight relevant skills from your BCA education, such as research skills, data analysis, and communication, which can be valuable in psychology research.

Entrance Exams: Many universities require entrance exams for M.Sc. Clinical Psychology. Perform well in these exams to showcase your aptitude for the field.

Can you do it now?

Since you're still in your 3rd year of BCA, you have time to research and prepare.

  • Look into universities and their eligibility criteria.
  • See if there are bridging courses you can take.
  • Start preparing for entrance exams (if applicable).

Additional Tips:

  • Consider contacting the admissions department of universities you're interested in and inquire about their specific requirements for non-psychology backgrounds.
  • You could also connect with current students or alumni of M.Sc. Clinical Psychology programs to understand their experiences.

    I hope it helps you.

Can someone do Bsc life science and pursue genetics with Biology Chemistry and psychology without studying. Maths and Physics at 12th.

Kanishka kaushikii 1st Oct, 2024

Hello aspirant,

Yes, it's possible to pursue genetics with Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology without studying Mathematics and Physics at the 12th grade level.

While some universities might prefer candidates with a strong foundation in Mathematics and Physics, especially for certain genetics-related fields like bioinformatics or computational biology, it's not always a strict requirement for a B.Sc. in Life Science with a specialization in genetics.

Here's why:

  • Core Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology are the fundamental subjects required for genetics.
  • Elective Courses: Many universities offer elective courses in mathematics and statistics that can be taken during the B.Sc. program to supplement your understanding of genetics.
  • Specialized Courses: Genetics programs often include specialized courses that delve into the mathematical and statistical aspects of genetics without requiring prior knowledge.

However, it's essential to check the specific requirements of the universities you're considering. Some institutions might have additional prerequisites or recommend certain subjects for a smoother transition into the genetics field.

In conclusion, while a strong foundation in Mathematics and Physics can be beneficial, it's not always a mandatory requirement for pursuing genetics at the undergraduate level. By carefully considering the specific requirements of your chosen universities and taking advantage of elective courses, you can successfully pursue a B.Sc. in Life Science with a specialization in genetics.

I hope this information helps you.
