if i obtain 80 marks in quantitative aptitude 80 marks in data interpection and 80 marks in verbal reasoning what is my total percentile of cat because my 10th and 12 marks is low ?

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 6th Apr, 2020
Hello,
Your CAT percentile has nothing to do with class X and XII marks.
The percentile indicates your performance relative to the other candidates. For example if you get 80 percentile it means your score is more than 80% of the appearing students.
The percentipe is calculated as:
P=(R/N) 100
where R=Rank of student and N=Number of students who appeared.

Is practicing 50 Qs. ,from every topic (Quant. ,reasoning , english) enough in order to crack SET ENTRANCE EXAM (Symbiosis entrance test) ?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 8th May, 2020
Hello,

Yes, if you can solve 50 questions from questions from each topics then you can get a good score in SET .But remember that you have solve question of each type and difficulty level of the questions should always be high but you must start from the easy level to understand the question types and skipping easy questions can sometimes cost you because if the same easy question will appear in the exam, you wont be able to solve them. You focus should be on completing a entire books. For example you can refer RS Aggarwal Quantitative Aptitude book for Quants section and you need to cover all chapters of the books. There are some sections in English like Synonyms and Antonyms which no matter how much you learn you will still find difficult to solve questions so try to learn more and more words.
Reasoning is all.about practice so solve as many questions as you can.Apart from that solve previous year question papers and that will be enough to crack the exam.

Good Luck

how to improve critical reasoning???

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 24th Mar, 2020
Critical Reasoning needs to be practised as much as possible. Comparison of data, Data Analysis, taking clues, interpreting missing data, coming to conclusions and making future projections will be covered under this Category. The questions here are interlinked and so if you get one formula correct, cracking the next few questions will be easy. So it's important to memorise and practise formulae. You should cover topics like Data tables, Data Charts, Bar Diagrams, Pie Charts, Graphs, Data Comparison and Analysis. As this is the most tricky section, this needs a lot of practise. Solve as many sample papers as possible to get the hang of the section. Make notes when required. Regular practise can help you understand and solve the questions easily as time goes on.

Here are few books that we can recommend for you:
  • A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning( by R.S. Agarwal)
  • How to Prepare for Logical Reasoning for CAT book (by Arun Sharma)

I am very poor in general knowledge and I have to know a much about reasoning and legal aptitude but specially in case of general knowledge I am very poor. Next year I am going to appear CLAT what will I do?

pdwords Student Expert 21st Mar, 2020
Hello,

The best way to learn general knowledge is to read any newspaper on a daily basis, the biggest advantage you've got right now is ample amount of time, so you can choose The Hindu because it's mostly preferred by aspirants for various competitive exams, getting used to Hindu might take time because of the kind of language and vocabulary it uses is by people who're highly qualified in their respective fields, but it's definitely the top preference, you can also go for The Indian Express. See, the best thing about daily newspaper reading is you'll be acquainted with every news economics, business, international etc so you don't have to mug up loads of questions when examination will be near. There are lot of websites which offer General Knowledge MCQs on a daily basis,it's best that after reading newspaper you go through that, in that sense you'll able to know how much information you're gripping.

For aptitude,it's best you get your concepts clear first,so it's important to know your syllabus very well and start from the basic. Then onwards, only way to excel is practice and practice.

I understand English language, but I didnt understand the question of math, reasoning and GK is in English language , so what I do ?

rehan18alam Student Expert 16th Mar, 2020

Dear aspirant,

Your fear of English language is because of less exposure to the language itself. You might have only encountered English language academy gali and that is why you are afraid of not able to understand the questions. To come out of this year you must spend more time with the language through non academic sources like fiction books or web series. In this way you will get comfortable around the language and understand the structure of language beyond the academic structure and able to comprehend meaning more efficiently.

Forest starting you might start with normal fiction books like Harry Potter, three men in a boat, etc.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

How can I complete the general knowledge section of CLAT 2020 within 12 days..?? Also give some suggestions to do good on critical reasoning section please.. Critical reasoning and gk are the toughest sections I am facing now.. Please help.

rehan18alam Student Expert 6th Mar, 2020

Dear aspirant,

The best way to prepare for an exam in short duration is to solve previous year question paper and giving examinations like mock test.

in this way you can get both familiar with the syllabus and the pattern of the exam and will also get to make your strategy that you must follow during the exam. to prepare for critical reasoning the best thing is previous year question paper and mock test as no book completely contain all the type of question that could be asked in the exam. Human starting taking marks and after you done with the mock try to solve all the question which you are not able to solve during the mock mock exam.

here is the link to the free mock test by careers 360.
