hello aspirant,

yes, of course you can persue your career in the field of robotics.

To  enter  in this  field  , you generally need at least a bachelor's degree in engineering in some of above mentioned areas of engineering or computer science. The technology of  robotics  is based on the expertise of many different engineering disciplines. ,for this you can do,

  • Electrical/electric engineering. Electrical engineering is one of the  best  majors to have in college to help pursue a career in  robotics  .
  • Mechanical engineering.
  • Computer science. engineering

top colleges where you can aim to get admission are-

  • Indian  Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad)
  • Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT)
  • Amity University.
  • University  College  of  Engineering  , Osmania University, Hyderabad.
  • Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

try to get admission in one of these colleges, let your dream come true.

hope that helps

I am interested in robotics. And going to join B.Tech now. I have 2 options in MIT,Manipal.1 ELECTRONICS and INSTRUMENTATION 2 Mechatronics. Which one should I choose for my robotics future Can anyone please suggest me the best one.

Tarreni Behera 31st Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

You should really go for Mechatronics instead of electronics and Instrumentation. While in the latter you mostly learn about electronics and chips, in the former you learn about both electronics and mechanisms.

In Mechatronics, you will get to learn about physical systems modelling, sensors and actuators, signals and systems , computers and logic systems, software and data acquisition, etc. These key concepts shall be able to build you a strong fundamental base of robotics through which you can excel in your career. This branch has a lot of scope in future and Mechatronics is an absolute and continuously evolving integration of electrical and mechanical engineering.

The blending components of mechatronics are mechanical components, electro mechanical components, electronics, electronics software, software for mechanical components and computer science. As it is continuously evolving branch of engineering, more subjects are being integrated within its paradigm.

Mechatronics engineers work on projects like AI( Artificial Intelligence), robotics, control systems ,data communications and networks, Dynamics of machines and mechanisms, human interaction with machines , industrial automation management, smart infrastructure and so on.

Mechatronics is a rare branch and not all institutions have this particular branch with the qualified professors for guiding the students in the process.

I hope this information was helpful to you. Choose a branch which interests you more.

Hey aspirant,

According to your CRL rank mentioned I guess you have very low chance of getting seats into top NITS, IIITS, GFTIS but you may get some of the average rated NITS, IIITS, GFTIS but you may have to struggle or compromise with your desired branches.but since every year the cutoffs changes so I'm not sure about it.But,don't get disheartened as there are many more private colleges too which are very well known and also provide an awesome placement to students. So,to have an idea of which colleges you might into based on your rank use the link mentioned below-

Which one is more related to robotics: B tech in Artificial intelligence or B tech in Applied electronics and instrumentation.

CUDDAPAH JASWANTH SAI 19th Sep, 2020

Hello Sindrella ,

Robotics is vast field it is not particular to one branch its combination Electronics , Mechanical , Computer Science , Instrumentation . Most demand and have good scope.

Electronics : Electronics can help communication with robot and transfer of data .

Mechanical :  How to design the outer structure and Which material is good to use  and creating Mechanical movements in robot like Walk, run, throw e.t.c.

Computer science : it deals with the software problems  and coding in robot.

Both above fields you mention in question is good.

Can a BE automobile engineer study robotics and automation engineering or even artificial intelligence and ML in ms?

rehan18alam Student Expert 14th Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Yes technically you could study AI in some colleges, but that would be a tough process to enter there. Because for that you have to show what expertise you  already have in the field of AI and ML.

For the robotics and automation, you can go for the MS as this will be related to your field. Therefore this would be a good option for you.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

robotics in short with its features

nishant sharma 2nd Sep, 2020

Hello student ,

In sh ort, robotics can be defined as a field that involves the development of machines that does human work. It is a mixture of computer science technology and engineering . So me robots are even capable of simple decision making. Moreover, current robotics research is geared toward devising robots with a degree of self sufficiency. This will permit mobility and decision-making in an unstructured environment.

Today’s industrial robots do not resemble human beings. An android which is basically a robot in human form.
