Here's some recommendation for direct admission in Ph.D. Sanskrit without appearing in NET: - Central University Of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, Haryana: In this institute you need to appear in their college entrance exam including a small interview. NET is not required for Ph.D. Sanskrit, also this institute is best option near NCR. - Sanskrit University, Mathura (UP): They also offer Ph.D. Sanskrit through their own university level entrance exam including Interview. Required that percentile of MA should be more than 55%.
- JRRSU, Jaipur: This one is the best local option in Rajasthan, offers you a Ph.D. Sanskrit with some merit basis. There are some eligibility criteria you need to check on their official page or contact them directly for any query.
Recommendation is that NET/JRF are the best entrance exam to clear and to get admission in reputed institute, because mostly institute have considered one of these exam mandatory. Even though You can apply for Ph.D. course with 4 year UG + 75% with master's directly in some institutes, some have still didn't mandate master's degree.
To find a PhD in Sanskrit program near the NCR/Rajasthan region that offers direct admission without requiring the NET (National Eligibility Test), consider exploring private universities and deemed universities that conduct their own entrance exams and interviews.
Some options include Amity University, Lovely Professional University (LPU), and Sanskriti University. Additionally, Central Sanskrit University offers a Vidyavaridhi (Ph.D.) program with its own entrance test.

Hi Nisha!
MA in Sanskrit is available depends on which college or university you’re referring to, but many traditional and modern universities across India do offer this course.
Some well-known universities offering MA in Sanskrit:
If you’re asking about a specific college, it’s best to check their humanities or language department section. MA Sanskrit is a 2-year postgraduate course that focuses on classical literature, Vedic texts, grammar Indian philosophy, and poetics.
For admission, you usually need a BA in Sanskrit or related field with at least 50% marks. Some universities conduct entrance exams too.
Thank you!

HELLO,
If you have completed a B.A. degree with Hindi as your second language, and now you're interested in doing M.A. in Sanskrit, your eligibility will depend on a few things:
You may be eligible if:
You studied Sanskrit as a main subject or as a part of your course in your B.A. (even as an elective or optional).
Some universities accept students from other language backgrounds (like Hindi) if they have basic knowledge of Sanskrit or pass an entrance test.
You may NOT be eligible if:
You never studied Sanskrit at the degree level or in your previous education.
The university you're applying to strictly requires a B.A. in Sanskrit or equivalent.
What You Can Do:
Check the specific university’s eligibility rules for M.A. Sanskrit.
Some universities allow students from Hindi, Telugu, or other language backgrounds, especially if you're willing to take a bridge course or pass an entrance exam.
You can also consider open universities or distance education (like IGNOU), which often have more flexible eligibility.
