which subject reffer for becoming scientist?
Hello there.
If you want to be a scientist, you have a long road ahead of you. First, a 12th grade science diploma is required (math, biology, physics or chemistry). You must identify your scientific area of interest and continue your study in that discipline.
Being a scientist requires a lot of work, and you must be passionate about your field. After finishing your master's degree in your selected topic, and you must pursue a PhD.
After finishing your education, you will be able to work for:
- Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO)
- Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR)
- Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC)
- Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
- Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)
- Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR)
- Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM)
- Indian Association for Cultivation of Science (IACS)
- Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES)
I just passed my 10th exam and I am very interested in nanotechnology (nanoelectronics), I want to build my career with it and become a scientist, I need your guidance. Which college is best, IIT, NIT or any other?
Dear Student ,
As you have passed your 10th exam, so I would suggest you to focus on your 10+2 board studies as the concepts should be cleared by you at this moment to go into a specific technical topic in depth afterwards .
Well, Nanotechnology is a popular subject in research areas as well as todays world of innovation .
In the following colleges you may get admission for Nanotechnology for B.Tech after passing 10+2 and JEE exam/equivalent state level exam for some colleges :
- Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai
- SRM University Chennai - SRM Institute of Science and Technology
- Amity School of Engineering, Noida
- University of Technology, Jaipur and others

can i do bsc in chemistry after 12th pcb to get job in BARC as assistant scientist??
Hello Aspirant...
Hope you are doing good.
BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center) recruits Graduates in science and diploma holders in engineering are recruited through a one-year stipendiary training scheme to meet the requirement for technical workers (Category-I). After successfully completing the DAE training in the various activities, they are absorbed as Scientific Assistant-B.
According to the official notification of the BARC for the recruitment of Assistant scientist, the educational qualification of the candidate should be B.Sc and it did not mention any branch in specific.
According to the notification released, you can take chemistry in B.Sc after your 12th PCB to be eligible for the post. and besides this, there are also some other qualifications that notification mentiones about the age limit ( 18 to 38 years).
Hope this information helps you...
All the best.
which bacherlor of science course for PCB students are best especially for research focused job profiles and to be scientist?
Hi,
In my opinion, you can go for chemistry.
After doing BSC chemistry there is a lot of jobs opportunity like chemical labs . As compared to physics and bio. A lot of govt jobs also requires BSC with chemistry.
- BSC physics has lesser scope than chem.
- In my priority order
Chemistry> physics> biology
- If you want to do a job oriented course then you should go for MBBS after clearing neet. I know it takes time to clear neet. Please think for MBBS from a govt College. It costs very low as compared with private college but after 5–6 years you'll in a better position.
- Otherwise you can go for BSC chemistry. It's beneficial for both job and research perspective. If you didn't learn maths in intermediate then you'll suffer in UG and PG because UG with physics is nothing without maths. Even in chemistry also you'll have to gain good maths concept clearing. Basically physical chemistry requires mathematics.
You can choose any path :-
BSC chemistry+ msc chemistry+pgt =teacher
BSC chemistry+ prep for govt job= govt job.
BSC+msc+UGC net = assistant lecturer
BSC+msc +PhD= lecturer
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
sir , can i become a biological scientist and researcher ,without math please answer me with clarification. because i am in 10th ,thanking you
If you want to be a Biological Scientist then you need to study Physics, Chemistry & Biology course in your 10+2 and then you have to follow the science courses related to Biology such as Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Genetics etc. But once you go to higher studies, the use of mathematical tools like Statistics, Arithmetic and Algebra will be required. So if you don't want to study Mathematics, don't do it, but make sure that you must have a good mathematical conception till your 10th atleast and the else required, you will carry on from your curriculum.

I want to be a scientist, a researcher. Im a mbbs student. What are the career options opened for me after mbbs to be a scientist? Im interested in theoritical field. Experimental as well. I want to learn about the different options available? Details.
Hi,
For going in any research field you have to complete the masters degree first then you can go into that field. So, if you want to become doctor first then you must do your MBBS. Otherwise if you are not having that aim then you can do B.Sc. If you do B.Sc then you will have one year less than MBBS and getting chance for M.Sc is easier than M.D.
After MBBS, Various institutes that offer research opportunities are ICMR(Indian Council for Medical Research), CIMAP, CCMB(Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology), St. John's Research institute. One can also join WHO. Many institutes like AIIMS, PGI, NIMHANS, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai (TIFR) offer a Ph.D. degree.
There are two ways to switch over to research leading to Ph.D. for meritorious MBBS graduates.
The main option is to get admission to a three-year medical postgraduate programme (MD or MS). Thereafter one can go for medical research leading to Ph.D. Besides this, a few research institutions admit meritorious medical graduates directly for research programmes.
For example, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology under the Government of India functioning at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram, offers major research programme in disease biology and molecular medicine as well as plant biotechnology and discovery. First class (with 60 per cent marks) MBBS degree holders are also eligible for admission. This Ph.D. programme is affiliated to the University of Kerala. Those having a valid research fellowship from UGC- CSIR or ICMR, category A of Department of Biotechnology are eligible to receive fellowships.
Medical Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Jawaharlal Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh and Christian Medical College, Vellore provide research facilities leading to Ph.D.
I hope this helps you.
All the Best.
is it need to complete PHD in physics for become a space scientist?
hello aspirant,
See, To become a space scientist, one should possess relevant education in pure science or engineering disciplines. ISRO recruit candidates with PhD in Astronomy, Physics and Mathematics along with engineers in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer science. So, if you have a PHD degree in the required field then it will really help you in becoming a Sapce scientist.
Most astronauts have a master's degree, and a PhD will significantly improve your chances of reaching the stars . A degree in astrophysics is an ideal starting point for would-be astronauts. Astrophysics is a broad subject that combines physics, chemistry, math, and cosmology.
