For getting into SRCC for B.com Hons one should have commerce subjects which are:

1.Accountancy,2.Business Studies,3.Economics,4.Maths,5.English.

And being a science student you cannot go for SRCC.

Yes, Math is compulsory to get into SRCC for b.com(Hons) or any other reputable college these days.
Even if you want to do Economics Hons math will still play a role.
Basically every college these days consider your score in Math and English during admissions.
So, it's better to take these subjects very seriously.

The SRCC site clearly mentioned the eligibility criteria for B.com hons that is,

The applicant must have studied and passed Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the qualifying examination for admission to B. Com. (Hons.).

Maths is compulsory for majority of the courses in many universities. So if you want to pursue b.com or any other good course then you must have studied maths in 11th and 12th standard only then you can apply for BCOM in DU.

Moreover maths helps in many other competitive exams as well. So I think it's better if you keep maths as one of your subjects
