Hello,
Congrats on scoring a good one in your board examination. I would recommend to get admission in colleges through your Board percentage and if you want to consider Jee score you may fill application forms for different colleges accepting Jee score.
Best wishes for future.
Electronics and communication engineering good at this college? I mean the faculty, placements etc
RCOEM is the best pvt engg. college of Nagpur because of its legacy and being backed by a politician-Banwarilal Purohit (so money is never a problem for the college). Currently, its the most disappointing college of Nagpur but better off than YCCE and GHRCE.
It was a good college earlier but the majority of faculty consists of new graduates who are insincere and don’t care about the students. They also lack subject knowledge. The old faculty has taken administrative roles and rarely care about their lectures as they are already overpaid.
In First Year, the chemistry department thinks of themselves as Nobel-prize winners and reprimand every student for the smallest mistake.
I was in Electronics Engg. and the faculty is terrible. If you ask them some questions related to the subject they will give a big lecture on your lack of understanding rather than accept lack of knowledge on their part. They care about submission of assignments and journals only. Some teachers are downright disrespectful, beware of such infected souls.
Even for projects they expect something beyond what IITians do. They don’t understand that IITians get funding for their projects, but here you have to fund even an LED for the project. Mini projects are a compulsion in the name of assignment but you have to travel to Electronic market and buy the stuff from your own pocket money.
The T&P department will scare you by saying that you would end up being jobless if you don’t get placed in IT companies. The majority of jobs offered are in IT support roles which are worthless in long term. You would be better off joining a startup if you really want to learn.
But I see that such fate exists at most pvt. engg. colleges of India.
My suggestion is to take any branch at such colleges(mostly CS/IT/EXTC) and focus on improving your profile by doing MOOCs or a certificate course like AWS/SAP/AEM in your spare time & vacations and also document your learnings if you want jobs better than the ones offered in mass recruitment drives.
It would also be good if you pursue MS/MTech/MBA in future but do ensure that you utilise your spare time in building your profile for the job that you aspire.
Currently AI,ML,App developer,Web developer and data analyst roles are in great demand and offer great pay.
If you wish to pursue Bank PO/CSE, than also prepare for the same from first year as that is the best time for it.
The fests here are completely lame and are supposedly carried out by students who are want limelight in order to compensate for their poor academic performance.
Such colleges are least bothered about making you the next high profile engineer or entrepreneur. They are only a degree factory.
I will list major parameters about the college and give them points out of 10.
Placements - 8 (Majority of the students get placed in the mass recruitment drive)
Teaching in the class - 6
Infrastructure - 7 (IT building is comparatively better than others)
Extra- Curricular activities - 8 (Maybe not at the same level of VNIT but they'll still keep you engaged and you will enjoy them)
Sports/Gym - 4
Post-Graduation/Research work - 3 or 4
A key point to note, RCOEM is ranked 2nd in Nagpur after VNIT. I would more or less agree with Shantanu Sharma, if you want to just get placed it is an awesome college but if you really want to be adroit in your field of study then maybe other better colleges are also option.(Unless,of course, you are getting RCOEM at the most, with your marks).
EDIT: CS Department has now started an internship program from the year 2016–17 in which selected students can work full time/part time in a company alongside following the regular curriculum. I have to admit that the level of companies coming for on campus recruitment is rising every year. This year, some of my friends got placed in MNC’s like VMWare, Amazon and Siemens.
Academics/ Study:
It is very well know for Academics Records till now and it is because of Faculty member who are very good in Teaching, Clearing Doubts in or out of Class and will teach you like your Friend, you will never feel pressure, tension and Headache things, which is helping in Boosting confidence in Studies. The other good thing about them is most of them are Phd Holders, So most of them have depth knowledge about their topics.
Because of Best Teaching, students are gaining mastery on the Subjects which helps them to go for their Dreams (Further Educations) after Cracking GRE, GATE, CAT, etc.
Placement:
If we talk about RCOEM then “placement” word will come by default, because RCOEM has excellent Placement Record. Here placements are more than the number of students (one student have 2–3 placements). Many Core/IT/Service Industries are coming every year for placement. But I advise you to please confirm placement of the branch in which branch you are willing to take admission.

Sorry but you won't be getting a seat in cs branch in shri ramdeobaba college of engineering and management as the cutoff goes as high as 146 for cs branch. So with these marks the chances are nil to get a seat in this College. You can try for some private or deemed colleges or some other branch .

Dear Sumit,
The MHT CET cutoff 2018 will be available only at the time of counselling. Candidates, however, by following the previous years’ MHT CET cutoff would get an idea how much they have to score in their respective categories to get admission at a specific institute and course.
I’ll suggest you to go through this career 360 data, it includes all cutoff ( Round 1,2,3)
