Yes, In the university, there is a placement cell. All placement processes are managed by the university placement cell. Every year, Sikkim University conducts a placement for final-year students. The university placement cell invites various companies to its campus for the recruitment process. The Sikkim University placement cell ensures that students receive pre-placement training before the placement. Workshops, industrial visits, group discussions, mock interviews, and other activities are part of the pre-placement training. According to the Sikkim University Gangtok placement statistics for the PG program for the year 2020, 25 of the 542 eligible candidates have been placed in various companies.

For admission to UG courses at Sikkim University, students must have completed Class XII with a minimum of 40% marks in any discipline. 45% in Class XII (Science stream) for BSc Geology. For BSc/BA Psychology, a Class XII grade point average of 45% in any subject is required. BA Chinese, 45% in any stream/discipline in Class XII. For BVoc IT, a 10+2 in Science with Mathematics or an NSQF level IV in the relevant industry sector is required.
