       Generally, the Colleges has got an average placement record and it doesn't bring companies of core branches. Most of the companies are IT based and product based companies. So, you should have the whole and good grip in any programming languages. Companies such as Infosys visit the College everyyear and recruit the students. The highest package was around 12 lakh per annum and the least falls around 3 lakh per annum.

If you are a average student from Tamil Nadu and if you are competitive enough to get better college like NITs and IITs ..then Sona college of technology is okay...you can go for it.

You can get the degree easily...... but if you want better future ..it might not be right place.

Placement of Sona college of technology:-

• placement of Sona college of technology is good for students from CSE ,IT or ECE branch ..but it is less as compared to few last year.

• If you are good in studies..with good marks..you may get placed ...

Yes, you can apply under OC category even if you are from any other state board and need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria under OC.

The selection is purely provisional and always subject to the confirmation from the Anna University / Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai.

MCA     

Minimum Eligibility: Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics with minimum 50% marks (45% in the case of reserved category candidates) in any discipline from any recognized University.        

MBA     

Minimum Eligibility: Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks (45% in the case of reserved category candidates) in any discipline from any recognized University.

Selection criteria: On the basis of score of MAT or TANCET followed by GD and PI.

ME/M.Tech

Minimum Eligibility: Applicants should have a minimum 3 years Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline of pure science or 4 years bachelor degree in any discipline of engineering with at least 50% (45% for the candidates of reserved category) of marks         

Selection criteria: On the basis of score of GATE, TANCET or CET followed by counseling.

BE/B.Tech

Minimum Eligibility: Candidate should have passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with minimum 50% aggregate (45% for OBC/Muslim and 40% for SC/ ST/ SCA/ DNC & MBC) from any recognized Board.          

Selection Criteria: On the basis of merit in 10+2 standard.
