At first congratulations to him on wonderful performance in the entrance examination. He has scored a very good rank and has decent chances to secure a seat for artificial intelligence and machine learning at the main campus but it can't be confirmed as there is high demand for the course and multiple tie ups at various ranks. But there is certainly very good possibility also for sure he will get into other good branches such as information technology or ECE. Also he can appear for the further phases of examination in order to upgrade his seat.

Now if he gets provisional admission into the college he can withdraw from it at any point of time if he is allotted any other good college under the rules of UGC. In such case all the tuition fee will be refunded to you excluding the  registration fee of rupees 10000.

Dear applicant based on the past few years cut-off trends, if you carry out an analysis the possibility of getting Computer Science Engineering branch with 6512 rank is indeed good. This is because the closing rank of CSE in the main campus lies mostly above 9000. So yes your possibility exists to get s seat, and apart from that you can also get Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or ECE branch as well.

As of now SRMJEEE 2022 Phase 1 counselling comprises of one round which will be conducted in online mode. The Counselling process started from January 25, 2022. You can fill the choice filling form on January 25, 2022 and  January 2, 2022. The seat allotment will be released on January 29, 2022. Hope you are doing good. I regret that no source had actually provided the statistics as to how many students attempted phase 1, of SRMJEE in 2022. However, in 2021, almost one lakh students had attended the exam. Though it is a private university, because of its wonderful academics and infrastructure, many students will find it comfortable. Students may be increased, from 2021, to 2022 due to competition.

To get provisional confirmation you need to do a payment of Rs. 2,10,000/- (which will include Registration cum Counselling Fee of Rs. 10,000/- and Part of first-year tuition Fee). If you withdraw your admission from the institution within a stipulated period by UGC, you will get complete refund of your tution fee except the registration charge which will be deducted as processing charge.
