I am pursuing an BA LLB course which is of 5 years along with the preparations for a government job. Can I apply for the SSC CGL examination in my third year?
Hello aspirant,
No, you can not give SSC CGL exam in your thrid year of BA LLB course as you are not eligible for SSC CGL. For being eligible for SSC CGL, a candidate must be graduated. And in BA LLB course you are regarded as graduate only after the completion of your whole course.
Thank you
Hope it helps you
I have an ST certificate. Can I choose my category as unreserved/open while filling the application forms of govt exams such as SSC CGL, NTPC, UPSC?Will this be a problem during document verification? Kindly answer in detail.
Hello Sai,
Yes, you can choose to apply as an Unreserved (UR) or Open category candidate in government exams like SSC CGL, NTPC, or UPSC , even if you have an ST certificate . Here’s what you need to know about this decision:
-
Choosing Open Category : If you apply as an Open/Unreserved candidate, you will not be eligible for the reservation benefits like relaxed cutoffs, age limits, or additional attempts that ST candidates receive. Essentially, you will compete on par with candidates from the general category.
-
Document Verification : During document verification, choosing the Unreserved category should not create a problem, provided you meet all eligibility criteria under the Unreserved category. Since you opted to compete in the Open category, the authorities will not consider your ST certificate for reservation benefits, and it should not affect your verification.
-
Future Exams and Forms : Once you decide to apply under the Open category, it applies only to that particular exam cycle or recruitment. You can still apply as an ST candidate in future exams if you wish to use the reservation benefits, as each application cycle is independent.
Important Considerations
-
Permanent Choice
: Selecting UR/Open category on one application doesn’t permanently change your caste status or eligibility for reservation in future applications.
- Eligibility Criteria : Ensure that you meet all Open category criteria (age, attempts, etc.) for the exam in which you apply under Unreserved.
Choosing UR in some exams while applying as ST in others is entirely up to you and is allowed. This flexibility is common in government exams in India.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

implantable collamer lens (ICL) is allowed in SSC cgl ??? mainly i am preparing for ASO CSS in ssc cgl can anyone help
When preparing for the SSC CGL exam, especially for a role like Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in the Central Secretariat Service (CSS), candidates must meet specific medical standards. The SSC CGL medical examination includes tests for vision, and the use of corrective measures such as spectacles or contact lenses is typically allowed. However, when it comes to advanced procedures like Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) surgery, the situation is less clear-cut.
The SSC CGL medical guidelines do not specifically mention ICL, but they do focus on ensuring that the candidate has the necessary vision standards for the job. ICL surgery is a corrective procedure often chosen by individuals who are not suitable candidates for LASIK. Since the purpose of ICL is to correct vision, it may be considered similar to wearing contact lenses or glasses.
However, the final decision rests with the medical board conducting the examination. They may assess whether the ICL meets the required vision standards without complications that could affect job performance. Therefore, it is recommended to get clarity directly from the SSC or the relevant medical authority by submitting a query or consulting a medical professional experienced with SSC medical examinations.
It's always better to have a thorough understanding of the specific medical requirements for the post you're aiming for.
