Hi there,
For doing a Job as a nuero surgeon in U.S you have to write USMLE 1 and USMLE 2 from India and have to go to U.S for USMLE 3. It is for getting medical licence in U.S and to practise there.
Private practice docrors can choose their area of intrest, but for foreign citizens, USMLE is needed.
Hope this will help you.
Thank you
Hi Raja.
Many Neurosurgeons professionally practice privately. Becoming a Neurosurgeon is not easy and neither is the profession, but it has nothing to do with private practice. It is the same for those working in government hospitals and those working privately. It can be said that in a private practice there is more flexibility and autonomy. A Neurosurgeon practicing privately might have operating privileges at a government hospital and can work as a specialist in cases when he/she is needed.
It is not easy to become a Neurosurgeon, but the job comes with perks. A Neurosurgeon is usually paid a lot. According to The MGMA Physician Compensation Report, the average neurosurgeon's income in the United States is $775,968. The median income is $704,170 , which is pretty high.
Now, coming to your question, it can't be told how much a Neurosurgeon practicing privately will earn as it depends on the number of patients you will get. But be assured that income for a neurosurgeon in the U.S is very good.
