the jobs for neurosurgeon i have seen just offer 3-5 lakh per month why is the salary so low, dont neurosurgeons charge 2.5 lakh per surgery?

roshni 18th Jan, 2022

Hello,

Hope you are doing good!

The one of the main factors that can influence a neurosurgeon's salary is the amount of experience he has. When a neurosurgeon is just starting out in this field, he has less experience than a veteran in the medical business. As such, he often has a lower initial salary. Over time, however, as he gains experience and builds skill, he might reach the same salary range that more experienced surgeons enjoy. In fact, he may even have the opportunity to earn more than them one day.

In many cases, different facilities offer different neurosurgeon salaries. One facility may pay its surgeons far more than another one does, for instance. Even in a single facility, salaries may differ depending on the amount of experience the doctor has. Additionally, private practice salaries usually differ from those set by an employer.

There are many factors that can influence  neurosurgeon salaries, including the reputation and experience of the surgeon. The facility at which he works or with which he is affiliated may also influence a neurosurgeon's salary. Any bonuses, incentives, or profit sharing benefits he receives may factor in as well. Additionally, neurosurgeon salaries often vary based on the country and region in which a person works. Once finished with the residency program and entering into the world of practicing medicine, neurosurgeons see a great jump in income, even in the entry-level years.

All the best!

Hope it will help!

Thank you!

in usa , a assistant surgeon charged 120000 dollars for a surgery or approximatiely 90 lakh rupees for a lumbar fusion. the case was not even that huge. why did it cost so much

Dev 18th Jan, 2022

Hey,

A spinal fusion/lumbar fusion surgery is designed to stop the motion at a painful vertebral segment, which in turn should decrease pain generated from the joint. There are many approaches to lumbar spinal fusion surgery. Spinal fusion is major surgery, usually lasting several hours. Spinal fusion is generally a safe procedure. But as with any surgery, spinal fusion carries the potential risk of complications. Potential complications include Infection.

In USA surgeons charge 120000 dollars or more for a surgery because of various aspects like:

  • The U.S. spends about 8% of its healthcare dollar on administrative costs, compared to 1% to 3% in the 10 other countries.
  • Americans shell out almost four times as much for pharmaceutical drugs as citizens of other industrialized countries pay.
  • Doctors and Nurses are paid more, The average U.S. family doctor earns $218,173 a year, and specialists make $316,000.
  • Hospital care accounts for 33% of the nation’s healthcare costs. Between 2007 and 2014, prices for hospital care rose much faster than physician prices.
  • Because of the complexity of the system and the lack of any set prices for medical services, providers are free to charge whatever the market will bear.

But in India the charges are less and depend upon the complexity of the procedure between Rs.189000 to Rs.800000.

Thank You

does a surgeon get 100000 dollars per surgery in usa

Sohamsengupta8 16th Jan, 2022

Hello Student

Not at all, it is an absurd views about the surgeons in USA. 90 to $300 per hour. No expert  he or she is a surgeon or  practicing medicine 100000 dollar per surgery. Yeah she can earn only 90 to $300/hr. If the doctor works at least 8 hours a day kannalli 2400 dollar per day and in the monthly basis $72,000 per month. So it is impossible thinking that is a doctor or surgeon earn 100000 dollar per surgery or per day.

This will help.

Is senior resident and surgeon same things or they are different

Prakhar Medhavi 15th Jan, 2022

Hello candidate

In the Indian context a Resident is synonymous with a Resident Doctor . A Resident Doctor is usually someone who already has a basic medical graduate degree and is now working for a Post graduate degree like MD ,MS . They typically spend 3 years as Resident doctors before they get their Specialization in the branch chosen. Some may pursue clinical posts for few more months after specialization to gain more experience and they are still called Residents.

Not all Resident doctors are pursuing their MD / MS . Some might be plain posters which means that they are not actively pursuing or not registered officially for MD / MS . They are doing these posts as a matter of interest or for gaining more experience.

These doctors are called residents because they actually live on the hospital campus itself and are available 24 hours in a day for any emergency.

The meaning of SURGEON is a medical specialist who practices surgery.

Therefore a surgeon can be a senior resident but not vice versa.

Hope you understand.

It depends on the female professional on how much time and in which time span they need this leave in order to look after themselves and the child in particular.

can a neurosurgeon in usa earn 12 million dollars per year by private practice

Swapnali Datkhile 14th Jan, 2022

Depends on which MARKET you live in, what PHYSICIAN GROUP you join and where you get boarded. You’re obviously not going to make as much in rural Kansas as in NYC, as your market is significantly less. A recently boarded neurosurgeon in an “NFL City” market can make about $500k to $1 million per year. If you come from a world-renowned residency program such as Johns Hopkins, UC-SF, Mayo Clinic, NYU and Columbia, and get yourself into a teaching hospital, you can maintain your practice and almost double your income though consulting, research and textbook writing/editing. A boarded neurosurgeon finishing up a 30 year career out of Memorial Sloan Kettering and he’s pulling in $2 million individually PLUS his profit share from the group he helped establish decades ago.

The average Neurologist salary in the United States is $264,500 as of October 29, 2021, but the range typically falls between $231,200 and $310,500. Salary ranges can vary widely depending on many important factors, including education, certifications, additional skills, the number of years you have spent in your profession. With more online, real-time compensation data than any other website, Salary helps you determine your exact pay target.

can a surgeon in private practice earn 1 million dollars per month

Dev 14th Jan, 2022

Hey Aspirant!

Making a million dollars a year or more puts you in the top 0.1% of income earners in the world. With such an income, you should eventually have at least a top 1% net worth of over $10 million per person.

And in career as surgeon, individual performs surgeries to save a life. A man’s body is considered one of the most complex machines and like any machine, it is also prone to several damages. If an organ needs to be removed, a surgeon is required, if an artery needs to be cleared, a surgeon is required, if a nerve needs to be worked upon and fixed, a neurosurgeon is required. Likewise, there are various surgeons who specialize in the particular type of surgery, depending on what part needs surgery.

Some Highest-paying specialties followed by their average annual salaries :

  • Plastic surgery:  $526,000
  • Orthopedics and orthopedic surgery: $511,000.
  • Cardiology: $459,000.
  • Urology: $427,000.
  • Otolaryngology: $417,000.
  • Radiology: $413,000.
  • Gastroenterology: $406,000.
  • Oncology: $403,000

No, it will be impossible for many surgeons to earn $1 million per month, But some surgeon can earn $1 million dollars per month and in order to do that you need to be a partner in your own private practice and have a great source of recurring clients.

GOOD LUCK & STAY MOTIVATED !

Swapnali Datkhile 13th Jan, 2022
Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

A surgeon's shift may be anywhere from 12 to 28 hours long . In emergency situations or public health crises, their shifts may be longer. To make up for their long shifts, surgeons often work less than six days a week, with an average weekly schedule of four days.
