Do surgeons in us earn 60 lakh per surgery I have heard that healthcare is very expensive there
Hello Ishan Bhargava
yes, it is for certain that a surgeon could probably earn around $6,000 to $100,000 per surgery in USA.
The average Top Surgeon in the US makes $803,791. The average bonus for a Top Surgeon is $163,064 which represents 20% of their salary, with 100% of people reporting that they receive a bonus each year. Top Surgeons make the most in San Francisco at $966,999, averaging total compensation 20% greater than the US average.
Surgeons can increase their earnings by gaining more experience in their field or choosing a top-paying specialty. Many hospitals will pay a surgeon more if they have demonstrated excellence by publishing medical research or receiving awards. There are a variety of fellowships available to surgeons where they can hone their skills and learn techniques to increase their earning power.
Thank you

is it legal for a surgeon to charge whatever he thinks is fair for a surgery, if not then what is the amount till which he can charge
The charge or the fees for a designated procedure is usually decided by the Hospital if the surgeon is attached to it. Now if he/she visits as a Guest Surgeon as per the request of the patients family, then the personal charges can be decided by the Surgeon. Although the charge is to be decided on the basis of the professional ethics and the average procedural cost. So its not like that a surgeon can ask a very large amount for a small procedure but usually its in average a charge which is affordable by the family and sometimes the surgeons from the point of view of humanity charges very feeble from poor patients. So this are very relative terms and nothing standardized figures can't be produced.

do doctors in private hospitals get paid per surgery or are they paid monthly
Hello Aspirant.
Hope you are doing well.
Really Sorry but your question is not quite clear as you have not mentioned the name of the hospital and I am asking for the name because every organization has its own working criteria may be some will provide the doctors for the per surgery they'll do and some may pay them monthly. So, it depends from hospital to hospital because every organization has their own functioning conditions.
GOOD LUCK, STAY MOTIVATED AND HOPE THIS HELPS.
Thankyou.
can a surgeon charge whatever he wants, for say a neuroendoscopy, kindly specify the figures upto which he can charge for a surgery, bcos now hes quoting a price of rupees 30 lakh
Hello Student
In general as a neurosurgeon fees of 2.50 Lacs to 7,50,000 rupees for neuroendoscopy that means brain tumor surgery. But this cost varied from
from one hospital to another. But it is an absurd fees of rupees 30 lacs which you have mentioned, is taken by a neurosurgeon for neuroendoscopy that is brain tumor surgery in INDIA. If it happens you may take the help of IMA Indian Medical Association authority.
Hope this helps.

can i do Fellowship in Andrology after my MS in gen surgery??(Without doing MCh in urology)
Hi there,
For doing fellowship in Andrology Candiate must have passed MBBS degree from an institute recognized by Medical council of India. Candidates must have completed MS/MD degree from an recognized institute. If candiates were enrolled in MS in General surgery, then they must obtain M.ch degree in urology after that they can go for specialization program in Andrology.
So you can not do fellowship in Andrology without completing M.ch in urology. It will be better if you complete M.ch in urology and then go for fellowship in Andrology.
Hope this helps you
Good luck!
i saw that my doctor who is mbbs and quite renowned was getting offer of maybach gls from a pharma company does this happen often
Hello student,
Sorry to say you but it is not professionally possible to offer such things from any Pharma companies. Maybe if there is some private things and for this reason This can happen. Obviously I am not telling that. But in general open doctors get commissions from pharmaceutical companies for promoting their medicines. The amount of commission is obviously depends upon the popularity of this particular doctor in this locality. But the offer you have mentioned if quite impossible to provide by any local pharmaceutical companies.
