I was allotted ms. general surgery in aiq round2 in santosh medical college and hospital, ghaziabad..... I want to know how was the surgery branch there nd how much possibility of hands on for surgeries nd patients flow... what kind of surgeries they perform...
Dear Aspirant,
If the rank of AIMS at 9/10 then Santosh will mark in around 6/10. That should give you an idea but that does not necessarily make it a lessor choice, since Santosh is a private hospital catering to a different segment of society. It is a 600 bed hospital. Generally in private hospitals the number of surgeries is definitely a lot less than government hospitals which cater to the masses and hence your first hand engagement will be lower.
Having said that Santhosh deals with , General Surgery, Neurosurgery, E.N.T. Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics and Cardio-vascular Surgery as related to General Surgery. So to gain experience nothing like working in a Government Hospital for a few years to hone your skills.
Good Luck
can do ms surgery post md medicine
Hari, both MD and MS are Postgraduate Medical courses whose minimum eligibility criteria is that you should be completing your MBBS with mandatory 1 year internship. Now let's say you appear for NEET PG and secure a seat in MD Medicine. You complete that course in 3 years. And within the next 3 years, NEET PG is going to be scrapped off in favour of NEXT. Which means, then the admission process will change. Though this happens, the basic eligibility criteria of MBBS being the mandatory qualification will remain. So you can study MS Surgery based on your MBBS qualification.
hi,i got seat in ms (surgery) in neet pg medical first counselling AIQ, i took admission ,i would like to upgrade seat in second counselling, what is the procedure for upgradation and what if I got alloted seat in second counseling will my admission fee automatically transfer to second counselling
After getting option in 1st counseling round, you can choose for upgrade. Then you will go for further counseling rounds. At the end you can choose suitable option from the options you got.
After you fix in which college you want to take admission then only your counseling fees will go for admission process.
If you don't lock your college option then it will be like you didn't get any college option and your counseling registration fee will get refunded.
It is the step by step process.
Hope it helps!

Hey Raja
You need to have excellent score in your Post Graduation for better chances. And it would be better if you get some on field experience of a Neurosurgeon in a clinic or hospital. Once you get a good amount of experience, regarding working of a medical institute and aspects of your field, then you can gather a team of worthy doctors and surgeon and start focusing on your Multi Specialty Hospital, for which necessary requirement are:
- A land for the hospital
- Doctors, Nurses and Staff
- Permission from the Government
- Financial Strength
- Medical Equipment and Facilities
It is a long process and for that you should consult a professional or a firm that will help you in all the processes and guide you for the same.
