Hello Aspirant,
You have below average score of class 12th, With this score the chances are very less to get B.Sc Maths programme in any of the college under Delhi University. It is late to answer your query, I hope you have also checked 2019 cutoff.
Do let us know if you have any other query.

Hello Stuti
Hope you are doing well.
Answering to your question, Firstly I should mention that I am too an Economics Hons. student of Delhi University.
Yes, it is compulsory to add Mathematics in the best four for this course. Other than Mathematics, English is another compulsory subject to be added. The rest 2 remaining subjects depends upon the stream you have chosen in class 12th.
The reason Delhi University has made it compulsory to have Mathematics in the best 4 is that, Economics at graduate level is completely different to what we have studied in class 12th. It is alot more complex and technical. A mathemaics background helps us to deal with it with a lot more ease. Core subjects like Mathematics Methods of Economics involve Mathematics in First year and Core Statistics in Second Year need a strong mathematical base.
Hope I was helpful to you. Thanks for Connecting with career360. We are always available to help you.
All the best for your future.

Hello Aspirant.
The first point to notice is that both universities are public universities. Both universities are pretty popular and have gathered a positive reputation in academia. There are plenty of colleges under both universities.
Campus
If we talk about campus then the campus of Panjab University is very huge and beautiful as compared to the campuses of different colleges within Delhi University.
City
One plus point of Delhi University is the city of Delhi as Delhi brings a lot of opportunites and exposure with itself. On the other hand, Panjab University is in Chandigarh. No doubt that Chandigarh is a very beautiful and safe city, it is yet to discover its full potential.
Extra Curricular
Both the colleges have a focused thought for the extracurricular activities including sports, dancing, cultural programs and more.
Academia
The top ten to twelve colleges of Delhi University are worth leaving Panjab University. But there are plenty of colleges within Delhi University and one should not become blind and choose Panjab University if he/she gets admission in any other low tier college of Delhi University.
Both the colleges have good exposure and are good to study from. The placement opportunities are better in Delhi University but both the universities have a bright name in the job market.
Thus to make a decision between the two, one should focus on the curriculum of the degree to be pursued. The syllabus will give you a brief idea about what you can expect from the university.
Best of luck!
