Can education and anthropology calculated in best of four marks in Delhi University?

Aryaman Tewari 29th May, 2019
No, according to last year, both of these courses cannot be used in the calculation for your best of 4 score.

But are you referring to 'Physical Education' when you write 'education' ? If yes, then PE can be included as it is a part of the List A issued by DU, which contains the subjects that can be included in your best of 4 score.

However, DU is yet to release it's list-A. The answer I wrote is based on last year's list A.

Do check out the link below for more.

It also contains the List A, along with the procedure of calculation.

College for bms hr or mithibai

Aryaman Tewari 29th May, 2019
Both are equally good.

Both have been embroiled in this race, along with Jai Hind College of Mumbai.

Overall, Mithibai has better infrastructure but it also has a lot of attendance issues, which might be a hindrance if you are planning to say, pursue CA side by side.

However, HR has its own legacy, own brand and is pretty lenient in terms of attendance.

When it comes to courses, both of these colleges are on an equal pedestal, with brilliant professors all around.

Good luck.

I have scored 72% in class 12th and belongs to scheduled caste. Can I get admission in delhi university in ba programme?

Aryaman Tewari 29th May, 2019
Yes, definitely. You have a good chance, because your score is pretty decent, and SC cutoffs are generally substantially lower than General/OBC cutoffs.

However, do keep in mind that your score might not be enough for a North Campus college. It might be in the later cutoffs, but due to instability in the pattern over the years, you never know.

But, you should be easily getting into South Campus colleges and off-,campus colleges by the 2nd-3rd cutoffs.

Good luck!

Does the hostel fee includes food, laundry charges etc. At Delhi University?

Ishita Roy 28th May, 2019

Hello Yogesh,

If you are looking for Delhi University's Hostel, the charges surely include food, furnitures, and all the other facilities. The fees taken for Hostel is inclusive of all the facilities provided Officially in the Hostel. There might be certain UnOfficial Facilities too, for instance an Unofficial Hostel Trip, Events, etc, which would not be included in Hostel Fees.

If you get into DU's Hostel, you surely would have an amazing life there, but please keep in mind that a certain CGPA is needed to maintain in order to sustain Hostel. Most colleges have the policy of 7CGPA (calculated by both the semester of a particular year). Failing to do so would lead to vacanting your room from hostel and a student from your same course who have scored the highest would be given accomodation.

I hope this was helpful, all the best!

Can I add ip marks in best of four subjects for taking admission in ba honours in delhi university?

Archita Pathak 28th May, 2019
Hi Rashi!
According to the university guidelines, only those subjects which are mentioned in the list A will be considered for best of 4 marks calculation. And if a student desires to include such a subject for the best 4 of marks calculation which is not mentioned in list A, then an additional deduction of 2.5% from the best of 4 would be made.

As far as IP is concerned, it is not included in list A. So at first instance, IP's marks will not be considered for best 4 calculation but if you insist, they will consider it but they will deduct 2.5% from your overall best of 4 percentage.

Only those students who are going to take admission in B.Sc. Computer science can include IP's marks for best 4 calculation without any deduction.

But this guideline is not followed uniformly in every colleges. In some colleges you will see that this guideline is followed very accurately while in some other colleges you might see that IP marks are not at all included how much ever you insist the authorities to do so. Then there are colleges where they will add your IP marks without making any deductions at all! So it depends upon colleges to colleges and also on the fact that how seriously and precisely one has read the prospectus. You can challenge the authorities any time during the admission procedure if you feel that they are not acting according to the guidelines as mentioned by the University in its prospectus.

So as of now just keep in mind that you will face a disadvantage of 2.5% in your best of four percentage if you include your IP marks .

Similarly, there are different guidelines regarding other subjects like music, physical education etc clearly laid down in the prospectus. Hence I would suggest you to go through the prospectus once. You'll get everything clear.

NOTE :- Yes for Programme courses your IP marks would be added without any deductions.

I hope this elaborate answer helps you understand.
Good Luck!
