how many min marks do we need in upeseat 2021 out of 125 to get a seat
Hi there,
Please be mindful that UPES is more rank-centric than marks. The candidates are called for counseling based on the rank obtained in the UPESEAT exam.
The rank cut-off varies every year owing to the factors listed below:
- The difficulty level of the exam
- Previous year's cutoff trends
- Total No. of candidates who appeared for the UPESEAT
- Overall Performance of the candidates
- No. of seats
Below are some of the top branches of UPES and their respective cut-off ranks. This data has been collected from different sources and might change as per the pointers listed above.
Applied Petroleum Engineering with specialization in Upstream-5000
Applied Petroleum Engineering with specialization in Gas-6000
Automotive Design Engineering-around 9000
Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Cloud Computing and Virtualization Technology-9500
Chemical Engineering with specialization in Refining and Petrochemicals-6500
Additionally, please note that your scorecard will also denote the number of people that have the same rank as you. In this case, your board PCM percentage + UPESEAT rank will be taken into account.
If you clear the above criteria and there is a seat available in your desired branch well and good.
If there is no seat available in your first preferred branch you can select your second preferred branch and keep the first one on the waitlist. Sometimes the waitlist does get cleared off and you get your first preferred branch.

what is the cutoff for b tech in renewable energy in upeseat
Hi there,
It is hard to predict the branch-wise cutoff as it depends on the no. of candidates who are shortlisted for counseling. You will be able to secure a particular branch based on your UPESEAT rank and your board PCM percentage. The better the rank, the more likely you are to secure the branch of your choice.
NOTE: There are also other factors to take into account, like vacant seats (if not enough seats, you will put on a waitlist), in case two people have the same UPESEAT rank- in this case, a better PCM percentage candidate will be prioritized.

it is written that login time is 10 am to 2 pm in my slot confirmation of upes . it ithat means that I can login anytime between 10 am to 2pm
If the login time is given as 10am to 2pm, then it means that your login window will be open from 10am to 2 pm. Within this time you will have to answer your UPES exam. After 2 pm the window will get closed and you won't be able to answer.
The online proctored exam duration is of 2 hours and you will have to answer 125 questions in this given time. 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and no negative marking scheme for any wrong answer. Your exam will start from the time you login and last till 2 hours. After that your window won't accept any answers.
So prepare and answer well.
All the best
I wanted to apply for UPES DEHRADUN on basis of 10+2 marks. I got 88% in class 12 and 86% aggregate in PCM. I want CSE branch. Will I get admission in 10% reserved seats for class 12 or should I also apply for UPESEAT. I got 80%ile in JEE MAINS.Also is it better than AMITY LUCKNOW?
Hi there,
Even though you have a good score I wouldn't recommend applying through direct admission. There are just 10 percent seats for board-merit candidates, plus there will be candidates that might have scored the same as you even more than you. Hence, direct admissions are a little risky.
Rest be assured, with 80%+ in boards plus your JEE mains percentile, (a rank list is also prepared as per JEE marks of a candidate) there is a fair chance you might get CS but not the top specializations like CCVT.
In addition, it is always best to apply through UPESEAT rank to be on the safe side as 80 percent of the seats are filled using the rank. On top of that, if you have written your exam well, you can secure CSE with a specialization under 9k rank.
Talking about amity Lucknow and UPES. UPES is better.
The fee structures of both are almost the same, but UPES offers 10+ CSE courses and the placement opportunities are better in UPES.
Additionally, you could also reach out to their help desk and enquire regarding any admission-related query.

Can we fill forms for both 10+2 merit basis and UPESEAT for admission in CS branch in UPES Dehradun?
UPES offers two pathways for admission. The non-exam pathway and an exam pathway.
1) Non-exam pathway entails admission through 12th and JEE Merit.
2) Exam-Pathway entails admission through UPESEAT rank.
Please note that 80 percent of seats are allocated through exam-pathway and the rest 20 percent through non-examination.
Talking about the non-examination pathway, you need to have an excellent score. You are expected to have a board percentage above 93 percent. Only then you will be able to secure a seat in your desired branch.
However, if you have given the UPESEAT exam and then you apply using board merit, your UPESEAT rank only will be given priority and you will be called for counseling based on the particular rank that you have secured.
Hence, you cannot apply for both simultaneously.

After getting admissions which college will give us seat??
Hi,
Getting a admission in college and getting a seat are two similar things. The college you get a a seat is where you will get an admission. Since, you are an engineering aspirant, so let us take an example related to that only. You will be appearing for JEE Mains, Now, you apply for JoSAA counselling. You manage to get your name in the list of candidates who got a seat. After this, if you can go further and take the admission at the particular college, where you got the seat.
I hope i was able to explain you.
How do I prepare for UPESEAT? What is the syllabus? I applied for b pharm, so what all do i need to study?
For undergraduate engineering admissions, UPES 2021 will administer the UPESEAT entrance exam as an online and center-based test.
The following is a list of the topics covered in this course.
The UPESEAT syllabus will be based on the syllabus for classes 11 and 12.
Given that the inquiries may not be as direct as those asked on message boards. Candidates can use a variety of practise materials to help them cover the UPESEAt syllabus.
