According to the cut off trend the cut off rank for admission to Computer Science Engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology is expected to vary in between 500-7000. With the given rank you may not have chances to get seat in VIT, Chennai campus. But you may get seat in courses like Biomedical Engineering and Production and Industrial Engineering in VIT. But chances for getting admission in cse and ece for second category is also low. You will get admission in Chennai campus for third category for cse and ece. This is based on previous year trends. Both the colleges are really good. They have really good teachers, but according to NIRF rankings VIT stands at a taller position as compared to SRM Chennai.

The teachers at VIT are more qualified as compared to SRM, VIT also offers a better AI & ML work stream as compared to SRM.

Campus wise vit > ms ramaiah

Hostels vit > ms ramaiah

Acadamics vit = ms ramaiah

placements vit = ms ramaiah

vit has welcome more companies than ms ramaiah but ms ramaiah in banglore , banglore is IT hub of india . You have more opporunities in bangalore . As per my suggestion you can pefer ms ramaiah .

In order to get CSE at VIT Chennai Campus, for general category student, you have to score a rank of around 12000 in VITEEE exam in category 1. With 33k rank in VITEEE, it is difficult to get CSE in category 1. However, you can get CSE branch in VIT Chennai by paying more fees and getting higher rank and getting in lower category, like category 5. By paying extra fees, you can get CSE branch in VIT Chennai.

With your rank of 23,804, there are chances that you can get CSE with AI & ML in VIT Chennai in 4th or 5th category based upon past stats.

Though it changes every year because it depends upon the number of candidates and the difficulty of the paper. So keep checking your counselling status.
