what kind of work experience is needed to get in iim Ahmedabad for mba
Hello Aspirant,
Most schools look for a minimum of two years of work experience and on the higher end, we've worked with successful applicants who applied with six or seven years of experience. That said, those lucky applicants tend to be the exception to the rule and have extenuating circumstances in play.
If you have work experience between 2 to 3 years in supervisory cadre, you will be awarded weightage by IIMs in admission. Please remember no IIM gives any weightage to the work experience of less than 6 months. Work experience beyond 4 years on wards also has very less or no weightage and is not much preferred by IIMs.
Hope this helps !!
I am 43 years old I have done advanced diploma in human resource management from Indian institute of technology and management I have done a masters degree in sociology but I have absolutely no kind of work experience whatsoever can I join hr company and how much will be my salary n designation
Getting into HR with no experience can be a challenge. Volunteering can be a great way to break into field of HR. Contributing to a local community or NGOs can build the required skills. Moreover you have many options like Internshala where you can easily get internships with a job offer as well you can go for some training as well.
Hope this help you,
Best wishes!!

my 12 cbse marksheet has a subject WORK EXPERIENCE. and it is graded A2 on what basis it is calculated?
There is no physical examination for "WORK EXPERIENCE". This particular field is graded on the basis of assessments, internals, etc. However, this is not taken into consideration while calculating aggregate percentage. Aggregate percentage will still be determined by the five main subjects' marks. However, if a student fails in one of the five main subjects, then instead of using that failed subject's marks, marks of additional subject (if any) is taken into consideration for calculation of aggregate percentage marks.
Hope it helps.
My percentage in class 10 is 94% ,my percentage in class 12 is 80.2% and I graduated from IIT with 92% ,and have a work experience of 2 years ,will my 12 Marks can create hurdle for me to get admission in Top IIMs.
hello dear,
No, your 12th class percentile will not create any trouble.
Only your graduation , your CAT score and working experience will be considered.
try to achieve 99.99% on your CAT examination So that you will get the chance on some top IIM colleges.
Thanks
All the best have a bright future ahead.
My MAT score is 657.50 (86.01%) and ssc 87.66%, PUC or 12th 93.1% and B.Tech 66.27% andI have around 2.8 years of work experience. Can I get chance in SIMSREE and JBIMS. what are the best government and private colleges available for me based on my score below 10 Lacs?
No you cannot get into JBIMS and SIMSREE with the marks scored in MAT exam. You can get into following college:
- BIMTECH Greater Noida
- XIME Banglore
- Balaji Institute Of Modern Management (BIMM) Pune
- SIESCOMS Navi Mumbai
- christ university, banglore
- New Delhi Institute of Management (NDIM) New Delhi
Good luck
i have completed my MBA and had a 6 year work experience, now i want to refine myself and explore more, would it be helpful to go for pgpex after MBA .
Hii Sushila
It's great to hear that you have a 6 year work experience and you want to refine your career again.
The course you are asking to join is the course made for working professionals who want some changes in their field of work or want to get higher rank profile.
It would be really helpful for you to refine yourself and your career again.
There's no harm in doing this after mba.
It will definitely add value in your resume.
If you can't afford regular college, you can also try the executive course or part time courses.
I am currently pursuing B.com (Hons), i am in the second year. I got 93% in 10th, 83% in 12th and I was planning to give CAT in 2021 without any work experience, is there a chance of getting admission in top IIMs given that i score really good percentile?
Yes definitely, if you score well in CAT then you have chances to get into top IIMs given that you perform equally well in WAT and PI round. Your CAT percentile will help you in your shortlisting but your final selection will depend.upon how well you perform in wat/pi. Your acads are good so you won't face any problem there. Also only 10% weightage is given to work experience, so you still have 90% in your hand to give your best. I'll recommend you to work hard and score at least 98 percentile if you want to get into top IIMs.
Good luck
Hi, My name is Vivek Kumar Pandey. I want to pursue Executive Mba. I live in kolkata. My academic scores are 10th- 73%, 12th- 82%, graduation in commerce- 51%.I have almost 4 years of work experience in TCS, currently in PWC, net salary is around 32000. Please advise where to take admission and how?
Dear Aspirant,
The first point you need to consider is whether to be a regular college going student or hold your current position and acquire an MBA through distance learning.
If you want to be a regular student then you need to write either Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT) applicable to West Bengal for admission to the colleges in W. Bengal OR write Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to the IIMs and every B School in India. CAT is much more difficult examination to tackle.
If you want to do distance learning at IGNOU – Indira Gandhi National Open University then you need to write IGNOU OPENMAT, which is their examination for their MBA programs. If you want to hold onto your employment then taking this degree in the distance learning format is advisable and their distance learning degrees are now widely accepted.
So the first thing to do is choosing the examination you intend to take and start preparing for it while working. Read about the good colleges in Kolkata and find out about their eligibility and then work towards achieving them. Having a good working experience will allow you to evaluate them better and choose the course that suits your career.
Good Luck
CAN I GET INTO MDI GURGAON WITH 96 PERCENTILE IN CAT. I HAVE 94.5 % IN ICSE, 95.25 %IN ISC, 7.8 SGPA FROM ST XAVIERS KOLKATA AND 0 WORK EXPERIENCE?
You have a descent profile though the graduation score is a little concern but overall your academics are up to the mark.
At 96 percentile, you stand a very good chance of getting admission to MDI Gurgaon. Generally, one gets a call from MDI at 95 percentile however for the final convert , 96-97 percentile is observed as the score.
All the best.
