Can I get admission in XISS with 98+ percentile in CMAT, despite of poor performance in GD/PI and average academics
Hi Kishlay, first of all congrats for the score. XISS is possible becuase you have scored a very good percentile. Most of the colleges give weightage in the entrance exams and then for GD/PI rounds have some weightage. Academics is not a compulsory criteria, becuase there are colleges who dont even consider academic scores. Academic scores and work experience always give you an edge over other students, but it is not the only criteria. Mostly you will get a seat in XISS for the percentile, but moreover it depends on the management decision. Hope for the best and stay positive. All the best !!
How much percentile does it required in cmat to get in it
Hi Soudeep, it is not fixed that one needs to get this percentile to get into any institute. It changes every year with resoect to the number of students appeared, number of seats available and the toughness of the question papers etc. Generally going by the past records XISS generally expects CMAT percentile of about 45+ percentile. For HR it is around 65 percentile. For finance and Marketing it is expected to be around 55 percentile. For rural management and IT is around 45 percentjle. The above mentioned percentiles are for the general category. For reserved category it is 15-20 percentile less than the above mentioned percentiles for all domains.
Is it true that XIME/XISS do not call you back after GD/PI if you have poor cat score despite having above 90 percentile in MAT/CMAT ?
No bschool calls you back if your application is rejected, only those get a call/sms/email who get selected for the final admission.
I have 73.36 percentile in cat. do i stand a chance for a call from XISS ranchi with this score for gd/pi?
Thanks for A2A.
73.36 percentile in CAT is a decent percentile to get a call from the top B school or from IIMs. For XISS the eligibility stands at 60+. However students at 70+ percentile to have a interview call. So i believe you have a decent chance to get a call. You may also want to look at few other colleges like:
XIME
IIFM
LIBA
ICFAI BUSINESS SCHOOL HYDERABAD
BIM TRICHY
GITAM BUSINESS SCHOOL
IRMA
NIRMA
Manage HYD
NIBM PUNR
XIRM
SDMIMD
IDB&M
IPE
Mostly you will get call from XISS Ranchi. So start preparing for GD PI. The first arts of focus for GDPI would be your profile.

Do they select the candidate having 45% in graduation?
Inorder to take the admission in Xavier Institute of Social Science you should have atleast of 55% in your Graduation domain if you are from General Category and for other categories like ST / SX / OBC / PWD it should be about approx to 45% in graduation as per the eligibility criteria norms of the Xavier Institute.
