I complete my bsc zoology degree and msc in food science and nutrition if Im eligible for fssai and cfso exam

Ayshwarya Mahadevan 13th Dec, 2025

Yes, you can apply for several FSSAI-related posts, but it depends on the specific post and its eligibility rules.

For FSSAI recruitment, different posts require different educational backgrounds. M.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition is generally considered a relevant qualification for many food-safety-related roles, but B.Sc. Zoology alone does not meet the criteria for most positions.

Here is how it works:

• For the Central Food Safety Officer (CFSO) post, the required qualification usually includes a degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Agricultural Science, Veterinary Sciences, Dairy Technology, or related fields. Nutrition and Food Science are considered relevant for this post, so your M.Sc. fits the requirement. Your B.Sc. Zoology does not create any issue because the highest qualification is considered.

• For Technical Officer roles, they also accept specialization related to food science, food safety, biochemistry, microbiology, and allied fields, so your M.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition again makes you eligible.

• For Assistant or Administrative posts, any graduation is accepted, so you are eligible through B.Sc. as well.

In short, because you hold an M.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition, you meet the qualifications for CFSO and several other technical posts. Make sure to check the exact notification when applications open, as requirements may slightly change from one cycle to another. All the best.

Ive bsc general from IGNOU with major discipline of physics botany and zoology. I want to do msc in physics but dont have maths background though I know keen details of maths to pursue physics

Ayshwarya Mahadevan 3rd Dec, 2025

If you have completed a BSc General from IGNOU with Physics, Botany and Zoology, then your eligibility for MSc Physics mainly depends on whether the university requires Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level. Most universities clearly mention that candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics together during their degree. Even if you have a good understanding of mathematics, institutions consider only your formal academic subjects for eligibility.

Still, there are some private universities and autonomous institutes that allow students without a mathematics background, as long as they clear the entrance exam. Another practical option is to complete a Mathematics bridge course or certificate course from IGNOU or any recognized university. Many institutes accept this as fulfilling the maths requirement. If you want to continue in physics, doing such a bridge course and then applying for MSc Physics, MSc Applied Physics or MSc Electronics would improve your chances. All the best.

so i am a 17 yr old studying 12th (2025-26) cbse and am really interested in zoology and am into conserving ,i really want to get into veterinary science,am also taking neet coaching and my doubt is that is neet really necessary for vet or board marks is enough

Sankalp Agrawal 27th Oct, 2025

Hello,

If you want to pursue Veterinary Science (BVSc & AH) after 12th, then NEET-UG is mandatory for admission in both government and private veterinary colleges across India.

Board marks alone are not enough, as veterinary seats are filled through NEET counselling (VET/AIQ).

Continue your NEET preparation seriously, as a good score can secure admission to top veterinary colleges.

ALL THE BEST.
