LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display, & LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. These are the two most widely used display technologies used in Televisions, computers, and mobile phones. LCD is a plain display that takes advantage of liquid crystals' light-modulating characteristics. Instead of emitting light directly, liquid crystals use a backlight to produce colour or monochrome pictures.
To show images, the LCD employs liquid crystals and polarised light. LED uses semiconductor junction properties to produce light. A doped semiconductor light source makes an LED. When a current flows through the junction, it emits light. LED is combined with an LCD module to create an LED display. Compared to typical light bulbs and compact fluorescent sources, it saves around 80% of the energy.
LED utilises the PN-junction diode principle, but LCD uses liquid fibres between glass plates to emit light.
LEDs offer greater pixels on the panel than LCDs in terms of resolution. The resolution and picture quality improves as the density of pixels increases.
Comparatively speaking, LEDs are more energy-efficient than LCDs.
Comparatively speaking, LCDs have a wider viewing angle than LEDs.
Users can readily view the projected content from all angles thanks to the light that LCDs emit in all directions. On the other hand, the PN-junction diode in LEDs causes them only to produce light in one order.
LCDs are Less expensive than LEDs.
LCD and LED displays can produce more bright and efficient lights.
They can work for longer life compared to traditional displays.
They are much faster in response to electric signals.
They are more energy efficient than traditional displays.
They provide better quality compared to traditional displays.
