Lieutenant Governor is the title given to LG. LG is in charge of a Union Territory in India (U.T). However, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Delhi, and Puducherry are the only three U.T.s of India that offer the position of Lieutenant Governor. In accordance with the Union Territory, the LG has the same duties and authority in the state as a governor, and at the union level, the President has the same authority as in India. The President of India selects the LGs for a term of five years. The Indian President has the option of suspending his term or having him resign from the position.
Lieutenant Governors (LGs) are in charge of the Union Territories in India (UTs). However, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Delhi, and Puducherry UTs are the only ones where LG seats are available. Lieutenant Governor is referred to as LG. While LG Full Form in Hindi is उपराज्यपाल.
An LG in a UT has the same authority, powers, and obligations as a Governor. In line with it, an LG's authority and capabilities are roughly equivalent to those of a governor. Although they are both the nominal rulers of UTs, an LG has much greater power than the latter. The main justification for this is that, in contrast to an LG, a state governor's function is restricted to providing advice and assistance to state ministers when needed. For instance, Delhi's LG may make decisions independently on the law, the police, and the land. Anil Baijal, the 21st and current LG of Delhi resides at Raj Niwas.
