Candidates must have an Act Apprentice or ITI pass or a Diploma in Electrical/Automobile/Mechanical/Electronics Engineering from an AICTE-accredited university.
The Academic Records, First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT 1), Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT 2), Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and Document Verification are used to choose applicants for Assistant Loco Pilot positions. CBT1 lasts 60 minutes and consists of 75 questions, whilst CBT2 consists of 150 questions divided into two sections - Part A and Part B. Part A lasts 90 minutes and has 100 questions, whereas Part B lasts 60 minutes and contains 75 questions. At both levels of CBT, there is a 1/3 negative marking. Candidates who pass both rounds (CBT1 and CBT2) are invited to the CBAT, and those who pass are invited to document verification.
