What is the full form of MD?

MD stands for “Doctor of Medicine”. It is a three-year post-graduation degree that is obtained after an MBBS course. So the applicants must have an MBBS(Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree to qualify for this course. Every year UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) holds Joint Medical Services Exam to employ doctors with these degrees in different government organizations. It is the highest degree in doctorate courses. There are different MD degrees approved by the Medical Council of India like MD in Ophthalmology, MD in Physiology, MD in Pathology, MD in General Medicine, etc.
