Therefore, a media gateway is a significant component that is essential for an IP network's efficient and proper operation and seamless transformation. Physical connections of various kinds are required for media gateways by law. Since most networks are known to employ many different technologies, this is mostly done to help them connect to such networks effectively. The media gateway may lose its connection during a network outage, which could ultimately lead to problems with service connectivity.
