In different parts of the world, various systems of units are used for measurement. Some of them are internationally accepted. There are many systems of units, out of which SI: International system of units is accepted worldwide. The other systems of units are MKS, CGS, and FPS.
MKS is the part of the SI system of units, where a meter kilogram and second are used for measurement.
The fundamental units in the MKS unit system are Meter, kilogram, and second.
M (meter) is the unit of length
K ( kilo-gram) is the unit of mass
S (second), which is the unit of time
By adding two more units, the MKS system of units was extended. The units added are kelvin and candela as the base units, thus forming the international system of units. The MKS system also includes force, joule, and watt. The MKS system with ampere as a fourth base unit is called the MKSA system.
MKS system is generally used in Engineering and Physics.
