History of MPPSC

The MPPSC started with the former state commission Madhya Bharat Commission. This organization worked from 1954-1956. A new commission came into existence in November 1956.

Functions of MPPSC

The functions of MPPSC are amended under 41 amendments of the constitution of India, Articles 375 and 376 which grant permission to MPPSC to perform certain specific functions in the state. These functions are:

  • To make direct recruitment of civil service in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

  • To make the transfer in departmental and civil service from one department to another department.

  • Promotions of state-level officers are done by this department.

Eligibility Criteria of MPPSC

There are some important eligibility criteria for MPPSC. Candidates who want to appear for exams conducted by MPPSC must fulfill certain eligibility criteria. These eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Candidates should be mentally and physically fit and the medical standards provided by the authority.

  • The candidate should be an Indian citizen.

  • The candidate must hold a degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.

  • Candidates' age should be between 21 and 40 years for the unreserved category. Some age relaxation has been provided to some reserved category candidates and females such as they are eligible for this exam till 45 years.

  • Male candidates who have more than one wife are not allowed to appear in this exam or any government post under MPPSC.

  • Females who have married to those Men who already have a wife are not eligible for this exam.

Registration Process of MPPSC

  • For registration, the candidate should visit the official website of MPPSC and click on the 'apply online' tab.

  • Then-candidates will be directed to a new page where they can fill out their application form.

  • Fill in all the required details like personal details, educational qualifications, etc.

  • Then candidates are asked to choose the preference for the post for which they want to apply under MPPSC.

  • Then they are asked to fill an exam center which is convenient for them.

  • After filling in all the necessary details, recheck once again, to avoid any error.

  • Then upload the candidate's photograph and signature in JPG format.

  • After filling in all the necessary details and uploading photographs and signatures, candidates move to the fee section or payment.

  • The fee structure varies according to the category and services.

  • Candidates who want to apply only for state services and do not belong to any reserved category have to pay INR 500 whereas candidates who belong to the reserved category have to pay INR 250.

  • Candidates who want to apply for both state and forest services and do not belong to any reserved category have to pay INR 1500 whereas candidates who belong to reserved category have to pay INR 1000.

  • The transaction can be done online via debit card/credit card or net banking.

  • After the registration, the candidate will receive a confirmation mail, and for further use, they can take a print of the application form.

MPPSC Selection Process

There are three main stages: preliminary exam, main exam, and personal interview. After clearing the preliminary exam, candidates are now capable of taking the main exam. The main exam includes a cut-off procedure that decides whether a candidate is selected for the last stage i.e personal interview. A personal interview is directly dependent on the performance of the candidate, it has nothing to do with the cut-off. The final merit decides whether the candidate is selected for recruitment under MPPSC.
