What is the full form of NTSE?

The full form of NTSE is National Talent Search Examination. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is conducting this national-level exam in order to award scholarships to deserving students enrolled in class 10. The state-level first-stage exam is jointly administered by all Indian states and UTs. Students who succeed in the NTSE's first stage, on the other hand, have the option of taking stage II.

Giving scholarships to qualified candidates who want to pursue further education in the social sciences or the sciences is the aim of the NTSE. These scholarships will enable students to go on with their education in the subject of their choice. Based on the student's overall performance in the two parts of the exam, the NTSE scholarship will be awarded.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training, which administers the test, requires that students take it offline, or in person, at an examination center (NCERT). Since there are no descriptive questions of this nature in the exam, all of the questions are objective. Bilingual questions are available in both Hindi and English.

Eligibility for the NTSE

You should always keep in mind that each level has various criteria. Before you study and submit an application for the test, take a look at the information below.

1. Candidates for the NTSE must be citizen of india or an Indian-origin candidate

2. Candidate must be a student in India's Class 10 at a recognized private or public school.

3. Candidates may also apply if they are under 18 and enrolled in Class 10 in an open or distance learning institution.

Syllabus

Stage - 1

MAT-The curriculum will include all fundamentals in both verbal and nonverbal reasoning.

SAT-The mathematics, science, and social studies curricula will be mostly based on the prescribed State Board curricula from Std. 10 (or, in special cases, Std. 9) textbooks.

Stage - 2

MAT- The curriculum will include all fundamentals in both verbal and nonverbal reasoning.

SAT- The chapters in the class 9th and class 10th syllabus will be used to source the questions in mathematics and science (advanced level). For CBSE students in Class 9 and Class 10, Social Studies is entirely based on the NCERT text.

NTSE Exam Pattern

This exam consists of two portions in each of the two qualifying phases. The Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test are the two (SAT).

Stage 1 of the test consists of a state-level exam administered by NCERT, where candidates are chosen by the States and UTs after a written test. And only individuals who pass the Stage 1 exam are eligible to take the Stage 2 exam.

Negative evaluation marking is used for the Stage 2 exam. The marks will be reduced by one-third for each incorrect response. There won't be any deductions for questions that aren't answered.

State-level examination

Candidates from each state and the District of Columbia may be screened at the state level in order to participate in the national level test. A fee will be charged, as determined by the state/UT. The state or UT will choose the examination format.

National-level examination

The national-level examination is only open to candidates chosen through the state-level test. Every year, on the second Sunday in May, the exam is held. There is no cost associated with the examination. If an Indian national who is enrolled in class X overseas received an overall grade of 60% in their class IX annual exams, they are eligible to sit for this exam right away.

Asamiya, Bangla, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu are just a few of the languages in which the exam questions will be offered. Results Announcements

The National Level Examination results should always be made public by July or August of the same year. There are four groups of students: general, SC, ST, and disabled. Around 750 students from the general quota, 150 from the SC quota, 80 from the ST quota, and about 20 from the disabled quota will be chosen. Reward

Scholarships are available to students who successfully complete all of the NTSE stages. For all students in Class XI and later (regardless of class or subject), the scholarship is worth Rs. 500 per month, with the exception of the Ph.D., where it is provided in accordance with UGC guidelines. The previous book grant programme has been discontinued. Additionally, the parent's income was no longer taken into consideration when determining scholarship awards. Originally, the examination had a third level where the interview was to take place. However, the exam framework underwent some alterations in 2010, and starting in 2011 no interviews will be conducted for the NTSE.

Important Information About NTSE

1. For undergraduate and graduate students, a scholarship of Rs. 2000 is set; for Ph.D. students, it is in accordance with UGC guidelines.

6. The Stage 2 exam for the NTSE is held in May each year, while the first stage of the exam is held in November and the results are released in January. Stage 2 results are often released in August.
