The Full Form of PCS is Provincial Civil Service. It falls under the category of Group A state service in the executive branch of the state government of Uttar Pradesh. It is often referred to as the feeder service for Indian Administrative Service in particular states. It takes a multi-layered exam to choose the employees of the state civil service. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is in charge of this. All the notifications regarding PCS are notified by the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination. A PCS officer is eligible for IAS (Indian Administrative Service) only when he or she has completed eight years of service. For applicants in the general, EWS, and OBC categories, a fee of Rs 125 must be paid in order to submit the application.
It consists of three stages-
Preliminary exam- Two multiple-choice question papers are included in this exam.
Main exam- It consists of eight descriptive papers.
Interview- It is done in offline mode.
The following are the Conditions for claiming age relaxation or benefits-
The candidate should have a domicile of UP.
A category certification issued by a competent authority.
For women candidates the caste or domicile certificate should be issued by fathers side.
Male candidates are not eligible if they have more than one wife (living). (Unless the state's governor allows an exemption.)
Women candidates who are married to someone who already has a wife (alive) are not eligible. (Unless the state's governor allows an exemption.)
Women candidates who are pregnant 12 weeks or more are considered unfit.
Candidates who consider age relaxation or reservation for the UP PCS Exam under more than one category are only eligible for one concession, whichever is more beneficial

IAS is recruited by All India Civil Service Examination conducted by The union public service commission whereas PCS is recruited by State civil service examination conducted by Public Service Commission (SPSC) of each state.
An IAS official can be posted anywhere in the nation; their duties are not just restricted to a specific state or area. However, a PCS officer's responsibilities are restricted to their state or province.
A PCS official can only be appointed in provincial departments, but an IAS officer can be posted in any central government department.
A PCS officer's salary scale is between Rs 15,600 and Rs 39,100, whereas an IAS officer's pay scale is from Rs 56,100 to Rs 17,75,400 in the start of their careers.
The main difference between a PCS and an IPS(Indian Police Service) is that an IPS is directly under the control of the central government whereas a PCS is under the control of the state government.
IPS is appointed by The Honourable President Of India whereas PCS is appointed by the Governor of the state.
The salary of IPS is also higher as compared to PCS.
Candidates for PCS must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or an equivalent degree.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old, and they may not be older than 40.
For some positions, physical measurements and fitness are required for eligibility for the PCS exam, and after the interview, candidates must submit to various medical examinations.
A PCS officer's duties include collecting land revenue, working as the court in cases involving revenue and crime, maintaining law and order, and carrying out policies of the federal and state governments so that the general public can adhere to strict laws.
A PCS officer will also be responsible for managing the administration and everyday routines of the government. This includes formulating and carrying out policy in coordination with the relevant Minister-in-Charge.
Pay for PCS positions ranges from Rs. 9300 to 34800 with a grade pay of 4200 to 15600 to 39100. The grade pay is now 5400.
