PM kisan stands for Parandhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. It begins on December 1, 2018. Farmers are one of the most important segments of society, and agriculture is a significant component of India's economy. However, farming communities have frequently battled with financial prosperity due to socio-economic differences that exist between urban and rural areas of the country. Since India's independence, a larger portion of its population has been troubled by this problem. The federal and state governments have worked tirelessly to improve these communities through a number of programmes designed to address this social and economic issue. The Indian government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this yojana to aid these villages. In accordance with the PM Kisan Yojana, all eligible farmer households receive yearly income support of Rs 6000 in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The scheme considers a family to be a man, a woman, and any minor children. The 2,000 rupees are promptly transferred to the farmers' or farmers' family bank accounts
Families of farmers who own cultivable land may apply under this programme.
Agriculturalists from both urban and rural locations are eligible for this yojana.
Families of marginal and small farmers can also apply for this yojana.
Institutional landowners, officers and employees either active or retired from the state and federal governments, as well as PSUs and government-owned corporations are not eligible for this yojana.
People with high income or people who pay income tax, farmer families holding constitutional positions, professionals such as lawyers, engineers, and doctors are also not eligible for this yojana
Those who receive a monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 also cannot apply for this yojana.
Farmers must speak with the patwari, or local revenue official, or a nodal officer (nominated by the state government)
Upon payment of fees, the Common Service Centers (CSCs) have also been given permission to register farmers for the Scheme.
