The eligibility criteria for giving KCET is that the candidate should have studied and passed from a recognised institution situated in Karnataka. The academic study from a state institute should be for a minimum period of 7 years, starting from 1st standard to 2nd PUC/12th standard as on July 1 of the exam year. Also, should have appeared/passed either SSLC/10th standard or 2nd PUC/12th standard exam from Karnataka. Please click the below link to know more

KCET is strictly for students of Karnataka domicile. The candidate must have studied and passed from any recognized institute of Karnataka. Candidates appearing for qualifying examination, must be from Karnataka state only.

As per eligiblity criteria stated by KEA, you can apply for KCET if you have a domicile of Karnataka and for that you must have studied atleast 7 years in Karnataka or your parents must be from Karnataka and since you are from a different state you should not apply for KCET.
