JNU being a reputed institution does offers MSc in life sciences and this is one of the prestigious courses.
This course comes under the school of life sciences. This was established based on the report prepared by a working group in the year 1970. The uniqueness of this course is it's experienced faculty, experts and active researchers representing almost all the areas of modern biology.
It is a 2 year pg course.
Following is the eligibility for the same - nYou should have done your under graduation with minimum of 55 per cent of marks to apply for the course.
You should have held a bachelores degree in biological science under the 10 +2+3 pattern of education.
Once you are eligible to apply you need to appear for the entrance test conducted by the University.
Admissions to the course is based on the rank obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the University and any derivations points awarded if applicable.
Also the university prepares a separate merit list for all the categories ie. Sc/st/obc/unreserved.
As per few websites the total seats for this course is 46 seats approx. Which are again reserved as per the categories.
The exam is surely tough to crack as its a prestigious university but it doesn't mean you can't qualify the exam. Some of the important topics that you should read are as folllows-

Classification of living world
Immunology
Translation transcription replication etc.

No mark will be deducted for wrong answer. Candidates will be tested in their basic knowledge in the core subjects of
Life/ Biological Sciences. The test would contain subject-specific questions encompassing different
branches of Life/Biological Sciences taught at the under graduate level in various UGC affiliated colleges /institutions in the country. There is no specific syllabus designed for the test, but the candidates are advised to follow the UGC approved syllabus in their respective subjects for guidance.
