For civil services exam ba honours with history is fine or any other subject i would prefer ???

Yes, for the civil services exam, BA Hons. with history would definitely be fine. You can choose it for the optional paper in your Mains exam too. You have a whole lot of around 25 subjects to choose. So be wise in what you choose.
