You can apply for JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced to take admission in IITs in first year of engineering. You are not eligible to take admission in NITs.

In order to prepare for your exam it is very important to clear your concepts. You can take help of NCERT books for that.
You have less time to prepare for the exam. So, you should focus on the topics which carries more weightage in the exam.
Refer previous year papers to understand the exam pattern and level of the questions.
You can also solve complete mock test series for your practice to know your strength and weakness. So, you can work upon then accordingly.
