Hi. I am Akangsha Bhuniya , a student of class 10 . I want to be a CBI officer . What should I do after my 10th board exam . which subject I should choose, then what to do ? please tell me in details.
Hi Akangsha,
It's indeed great to see you aiming so high for yourself. Joining the CBI is a matter of great prestige, and a wonderful opportunity to give back to your country.
To join the CBI, one needs to have completed their Graduation in any subject, and then they may:
a) Take the UPSC Civil Services Exam and achieve IPS (Indian Police Service) rank. You will then be eligible for Group A positions in the CBI.
b) Or, you may take the SSC (Staff Selection Commission)- CGL (Combined Graduate Level) examination, for Grade B positions in the CBI.
After Class X, you may opt for any stream of your choice. However, Humanities subjects somehow lay a slightly better foundation for exams like UPSC and SSC.
Also, these exams require a candidate to have very strong General Knowledge, hence, developing a habit to read the newspaper regularly is always a good idea when considering a Career option like this.
Feel free to reach out for any further queries.
All the Best!
To become a CBI officer, you need to complete graduation. You can choose any subject of your choice in class 11th and 12th. Then, after you complete class 12th, go for bachelor's course, under any subject discipline of your choice. After that, you can select to give UPSC or SSC CGL etc., as per your choice to get into CBI.
The eligibility criteria for all these competitive examinations state that the candidate must have completed graduation degree in any subject stream with minimum 50% marks from a recognised university.
To become A grade CBI officer, you should go for UPSC exam. For a sub inspector Post, you must go for SSC CGL exam.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
