Hi this year i have completed my B. E CIVIL with 68.97% now i am planning for ms in Australia you please suggest me institutes.
Hi,
Focus on acing GRE. You need to have a decent score before you can even apply for universities. Based on your score then shortlist the universities that accept your score.
Hi Fahad,
Six Australian schools are among the top 50 in the world for Civil Engineering courses. Admissions to Masters courses to these universities usually require a good GRE score. The top schools in Australia according to the QS rankings are:
15 The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney)
21 The University of Sydney
26 The University of Melbourne
30 Monash University
37 The University of Western Australia
42 The University of Queensland
Do revert if you need more information.
Since you have scored 68.97% in your undergraduate degree, when individual institutions convert it to a 4.0 GPA scale (or any other scale used by the respective University) ,you score will lie in between 3.0-4.0 GPA range although this may vary depending on the conversion methods used by the college or institution.
Apart from your undergraduate percentage, you will require GRE as well as English language proficiency scores in order to pursue an MS in Australia.
In most cases, only the GRE general test is required, although if you want to further increase your chances of admission you can chose to give a GRE subject test in either mathematics or physics. The GRE general test requires around 2-3 months for preparation through self-study considering that the candidate already has a knowledge of grade 10 level mathematics, whereas if you pursue a coaching class for GRE it may even take 1-2 months.
The two English language proficiency tests available are TOEFL and IELTS. In order to gain admission to a good college or institution, a candidate should score around 90+ out of 120 in the TOEFL iBT (internet based test) or 6.5+ in the IELTS examination. Generally, the preparation for these examinations will be essentially covered in your preparation for the GRE verbal and analytical writing sections, although you may require some additional practice for the speaking section.
So ultimately, you will have to prepare for both GRE and IELTS or GRE and TOEFL although most of the preparation for your English language proficiency exam will be covered within the GRE preparation itself.
Some of the best colleges you can look into for MS Australia and the links for their Masters programs are given below:
