The college offers only BEd course, and the admission procedure of the same is merit based and also entrance based, the minimum eligibility criteria to get admission in the same is that the candidate must have a bachelor's degree or a master's degree in any specialization.

Admission is based on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university. Government College of Education at Komarapalayam is a NAAC Accredited institution with ‘B’ Grade. The college was started during the year 1955-56 and housed in the Government High School, Komarapalayam.
