Passing the GD and PI of TISS is a challenging task. For GD, the major focus should be upon current affairs. Only the headline knowledge of trending topics is not enough, one needs to know factual information to substantiate their points and clear the Group Discussion round.
Personal Interviews are also very tricky. One should be confident and have a positive attitude.
The one requirement to perform well in an interview is to have proper knowledge regarding the subject that you have studied in your undergraduate degree. You might be asked to connect the relevance of the subject to regulation and governance.
One of the ways to prepare for the personal interview in TISS is to gather knowledge about the background and interests of the faculty of your course. You should find the faculty of the course you are interested in and read their profiles. This would give you an idea of their specializations and interest. If they have any published works, then you can read those works. This would equip you with logical arguments and your response rate would also be quick.
Another thing is to be able to connect the trending topics with the degree you are applying for. Such questions are asked to judge the critical thinking of the students. Find connections between the recent news and the subjects you are interested in and have applied for.
Especially for interviews for Regulation and Governance course, one should do research on the major regulatory bodies of the country and their heads and structure. One should also know the loopholes in governance and have creative solutions for the same.
