how to calculate cat percentile?
Dear candidate,
CAT Percentile = [1 – (Your Rank in CAT 2019/Total Number of Candidates taking CAT 2019)] * 100
For Example,
If the total number candidates who will be appearing for CAT 2019 exam is 1, 00,000 and you score a CAT rank 2019 of 3,500 then your CAT percentile will be calculated as below:
Your CAT 2019 Percentile = [1 – (3500/1, 00,000)] * 100 = 96.5
The above percentile means that 96.5 percent of the students writing the CAT exam shall have the CAT score below you.
No candidate can score an absolute 100 percentile in CAT exam because CAT Percentile indicates what percent of students you are ahead of, including yourself. Also, the CAT percentile is calculated up to three decimal places, and it then rounded off to the next closest possible number.
Cat result predictor is available that helps you to calculte the expected percentile. If you want to know your expected percentile you can check below link:

Hope I answer your question and it's helpful.
All the best .
The CAT percentile for an individual candidate is determined by determining the percentage of candidates that have scored below you. Thus, if you score 90 percentile then it means that 90 percent students have scored below you which means if total 2,00,000 candidates applied for CAT then your rank among them was 20,000as you scored more than 90% of the students. Hope this helps.
Once you get a rank you subtract your rank from the total number of students appearing for the exam and divide the result by the total number of students. After that multiply it by 100.
It's the way percentile is calculated for any exam. It's not the percentage. It tells you how many students are below or above you. For example if you get 80 percentile, it means you are better than 80% students.
